This was the conclusion at the ESC (European Society of Cardiologists) Conference that has been held over the last few days.

I am awaiting a second lot of blood results to come back to confirm drug induced hepatitis....the culprit is statins

I am truly sorry to hear this and hope it turns out not to be the case. A friend was hospitalised by a severe reaction to penicillin. No one would argue that penicillin is a bad drug though. The same approach is needed with statins.

No surprise there, as statins can do very little wrong is, with significant exceptions, the medical establishments standpoint. Not coming down on one side or the other but it could just as easily be argued as opponents would have it that it’s that it is never too late to stop taking statins!

Because statins reduce irritation and stabilise plaque I would suggest a low level maintenance dose is taken if the decision is taken to stop them.
