Crippled by Statins.
Heart attack in June 2020, on Atorvastain and other brands, now neuropathy muscle pain, can hardly walk. GP says stay on them or suffer another heart attack, but I have stopped taking them as my life is unbearable. Will pay anything for alternative. Can anyone help. I am male and 80.

Making Good Choices can Pay Off.
They were pretty good anyway because of the
statins
but I was definitely surprised to see they hadn't declined. I drink lots of water to help prevent UTI's and maintain healthy kidneys and bladder and no longer drink alcohol....well maybe a celebratory drink for birthday or Christmas!

Medication reactions Diltiazem, statins, Bisoprolol and now something else?
Statins
, of varying dosages and types, resulted in really high LFT ( I’m not on any cholesterol controlling med now which concerns me - cardiologist thinks I should be but reactions prohibit this).

Fatty Liver Diet
I’m on 2
statins
which control it fairly well. I have fatigue, a little too much fat around my middle and sometimes get mild pain under right ribs. I’ve cut out processed snacks and sugar, but didn’t eat a lot lot before. I was a fairly healthy eater before trying to improve my liver.

Statins and myosotis. A warning
Unfortunately stopping the
statins
doesn’t stop the problem. I am now going through prednisolone and methotrexate therapy. I do think that with the widespread use of
statins
is causing an increase in myosotis.

New injection to help lower cholesterol for UK 💉
The revolutionary new treatment, Inclisiran, is delivered as an injection twice a year and can be used alongside
statins
, adding to the options available to patients to help control their cholesterol levels.

Statins oh Statins again
If
Statins
are meant to do virtually the same thing as a deterrent then why do people have to keep switching over because of intolerance to one and not another. Surely the aim of the drug is to lower cholesterol etc. So why the diversity ?

Angiogram clear, what next? Microvascular?
I'll still stay on the
statins
for my cholesterol until I speak to a doctor about another blood test to check levels. So I guess I wait for 7-10 days for the results to filter through to the doctors and then phone to see what happens next.

Things are settling down...
Cholesterol is improving due to
statins
. I take both meds in the evening. I did have a bad episode recently which had all the symptoms of a stroke but after 24 hours in neurology it was considered to have been a mimic stroke caused by a migraine. No headache but a load of other symptoms.

Morning back stiffness
The only thing I have done differently is I have started taking
Statins
, but I left them off for a few days and although the pain stiffness didn't seem as bad it was hard to tell if the statin was the cause. I am on a very low Statin dose anyway.

Muscle wastage from statins
Severely allergic to
statins
, it was discovered through blood test showing enzymes . Have felt quite weakened through this and not up to doing BHF exercises. Have been walking my dog but it’s not enough somehow I need to build the muscles up and nit sure how to achieve this

No stent extra meds
After having a cardiology angiogram last I was told then by the cardiologist that I would need a stent but he would speak to colleagues. Then I got a letter to say I’m staying on my meds plus statin’s and aspirin. My finding were “Access was via the right radial artery. Results showed mild ascending
