Statins - Thank You
Two weeks ago I saw someone say about the problems they had with
Statins
. I stopped taking my
Statins
and the difference has been amazing. Fibro has so many quirks. My GP said that
Statins
and Fibro don't work together. I believe its true and that is enough for me

New Study Suggests that Millions Fewer Americans May Need to Take Statins
I just read this article (not the actual research article) that suggests that potentially 40% of Americans taking
statins
may not need to take them. What are your thoughts? https://apple.news/A2w_8AMmESbq59-D5UuGClg

Advice please
I have been recommended by my GP to take
statins
but I have an under active thyroid and take levethoroxine. He has said the risk is muscle damage but to me that makes no sense as your heart is just a big muscle.

PMR Flare
However on 17th March I started taking
statins
(Pravastatin) as my cholesterol is raised (think GPs are on a mission with this at the moment)...all seemed OK for about 4 weeks then I started getting symptoms of a flare. I upped my pred by 1mg usually works and stopped the
statins

Genetic Side-Effects
Telling my sister recently about my problems with
Statins
and Nustendi, which was prescribed as an alternative, she revealed that she'd had exactly the same heel problem when she was put on
Statins
. Makes you wonder if we should look more at how medicines have affected our relatives.

My doctor wants me to take
statins
but I am so afraid they will trigger RLS as mine are fairly well controlled at the moment. I think I read on here that there are alternatives to
statins
, but I have not been able to find any names. Can anyone help?

Cholesterol
Hello all, Following a recent blood test, I've received a message from my GP saying my cholesterol is a bit high and advising lifestyle changes and offering
statins
. I'm currently researching
statins
trying to make an informed decision. I read that they are advised for CVD.

Acute Angle Glaucoma and statins
My doctor suggested
statins
to me today and apart from trying to keep healthy naturally I can't seem to find any articles suggesting it would be safe to take
statins
re my glaucoma and that
statins
wouldn't be even more detrimental to my glaucoma progression? .
