lanzoprazole and statins
I had similar problems with lanzoprazole and was switched to famotidine. Worked a treat and no more sitting in the smallest room for ages . Might be worth mentioning if the new "prazole" gives you the same problems
Is it necessary for you to be taking a PPI? It is certainly is not necessary if you are only on statins in my unqualified opinion. However if you are taking other medication (and the PPI has been prescribed to 'settle the stomach') it might be worth not taking a PPI as a trial with your GP's agreement to see if you can do without it. And if you find you need it other PPIs are available and other forms of medication to do the same job which your GP can prescribe. I take lansoprazole for reflux disease and don't suffer with regular diarrhoea although if I do on occasion I usually put it down to something I may have eaten.
I’ve taken omeprazole fir acid reflux for years before my stent was fitted with no issues . Was only switched to lanzoprazole when I had to take clopidogrel
That's a shame. I was also moved onto lansoprazole from esomoprazole when I was prescribed clopidogrel after my HA due to their interaction. I suppose you could discuss moving from clopidogrel to another antiplatelet and going back to omeprazole. Hope you get sorted.
I was the same switched to pantoprazole and had no.problems at all.
