Dehydrated and tired all the time...
Hi I've been living with cirrhosis for around two and half years now and at the moment seem stable, scoring 7 on child push so just inside criteria for transplant but no need just yet. But I'm constantly feeling dehydrated and even after a good night's sleep (or so I think) I wake up feeling completely

Hi everyone. I have had cirrhosis since March 2014 and have a UKELD of 53 with possible referral for transplant depending on results this week. My problem is simply exhaustion!. Sitting here crying and getting mad with myself for not having any energy. I am still working full time from home but am physically

Leaking legs, Diuretics and pred
Hi all I have just been prescribed a 2 week course of Furosemide to reduce the amount of fluid in my legs. Currently one of my legs is leaking fluid, in the area of my thigh behind the knee, which is quite difficult to manage as unlike blood, the leakage doesn't seem to stop and just soaks through dressings

Spironolactone Warning.
I thought this would be of interest to some of you. Owing to excessive fluid retention I was put on Spironolactone 25mg in September whilst in hospital, it seems this drug works alongside Furosemide to get rid of fluid. It went fine until early December, I started with tenderness in my Pectoral Muscles

Fluid retention
I have CHF as well as AF so am on diuretics as of late they haven't been working as well, today I had to have a CT scan so did not take frusemide at 7am as usual I took it about 11am when I got home and gosh it seems to work much better so if anyone has the same problem you could try it,

ablation
Only 3 weeks since last seeing cardiologist, already have a referral for ablation. The week after next. phew. But, I am now having such terrible swelling in my legs, they are leaking fluid. I already take 120 mg furosemide a day, so seeing my GP with 'crying legs' this morning, life is flipping unfair

AFIB and Heart Failure
This is my first post. In June 2012 I was diagnosed with AFIB & Heart Failure. My pulse rate was 160. The hospital cardiologist decided to treat me with the powerful drugs which they routinely prescribe instead of trying a cardioversion. Three miserable years later, after trying beta-blockers, ace inhibitors

Gastroparesis - A Novel Cause of Persistent Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Elevation in Hypothyroidism
Reading this case report I kept holding my breath. Surely he can't be suffering (or have suffered)
ALL
those disorders? Surely he can't be taking
ALL
those medicines? Surely if he has high TSH (no mention of FT4 - only that he was "clinically euthyroid") then it really doesn't matter why

i have primary lymphedema.
I have primary lymphedema and had leaking legs which ended up turning into an ulcer with green discharge. thankfully that has now healed and I have made to measure compression stockings which has helped to reduce the swelling a lot. The problem I now have is my ankles just do not seem to have gone down

Pomegranate Juice
I copied the following from the MedlinePlus website. Sorry for the long post but I thought some might find it interesting that one juice can impact so many things. How can anyone know what drugs or supplements really do to each of us since we are all physically different, eat differently, etc.? I

Medication shortfall before appointment
My husband is seeing the cardiologist on Friday afternoon. However, all his medication that he was given on leaving hospital a month ago (Bisopralol, Apixaban, Digoxin, Spironolactone, Ramipril) all run out on Thursday morning. Does it matter that much for a few hours, assuming we will be able to get

Hypothyroid and get pitting oedema.
Hi all. I am hypothyroid but I get pitting oedema in ankles and feet. Ii am on levothyroxine 125mg. This was recently increased from 100mg. I have breathing difficulties but lung consultant thinks this is due to incteased weight and lack of exercise. I am to see cardiologist as suspected angina. But

The 40 ton truck that is AF!
Went to see my GP on Thursday and feel like I have been hit by a truck. I am still spread eagled on the front clinging on for dear life! Didn't really have much chance to ask questions as I was shocked. The results of a recent ECG show a rate of between 100 - 175, so the slozem has not been working.
