NTproBNP blood test
I had the above blood test on 27th October. Was finally told the results today via snail mail. BNP is showing as 1278. I'm assuming this confirms heart failure? Cardiac nurse is asking GP to prescribe me Furosemide 40mg for three days then 20mg daily after. I have constant afib following a massive pulmonary

Thyroiditis, insulin resistant PCOS, menopause, High BP
Hi - Not entirely sure where to post this given the list of above diagnoses I have just been saddled with. Saw a private Endo, who was amazing, and has said I have all of the above. He's put me on propranolol (beta blocker) for the Thyroid and high blood pressure (180/150), metformin for the insulin

Furosemide side effects
I am suffering severe hearing loss and inflammation of big toe joints. I understand these are known side effects of the diuretic Furosemide. It was prescribed by GP because I have slight heart failure and various heart valve problems and in danger of water collecting round organs, although I have no

New HFpEF diagnosis
Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with HFpEF ( heart failure with preserved ejection fraction) and I was seen by a private cardiologist. I presented in clinic with swollen feet, legs and ankles and breathlessness when going up stairs. I also had a slightly raised BNP blood level. I have been prescribed Furosemide

Blood Test Essential with Omeprazole

Poor Left Ventricle Performance
I have poor left ventricle performance with the usual issues (breathlessness, dizziness etc). I have been tried on Spironolactone and Eplerenone but after a short period of success my body became allergic to them and I had to stop. As I understand it These are the only two drugs that enhance left ventricle

AF diagnosis but feeling suffocated when not in AF as well??
Having a bit of a rough time here. In and out of fast AF although medicated. Looks like I might have an enlarged heart, had echocardiogram done about 6 or more weeks ago, and heart monitor for 7 days. I know they definately captured some of my issues because of a few of the days I was so ill. Cardiologist

How do you cope with meds when you have heart and kidney failure?
3 weeks ago I felt I was doing quite well and stable but in an effort to give my kidneys a chance hf nurses halved my dose of Spironolactone. The result was the return of breathlessness. I was back to sleeping in my chair and feeling so disappointed. Night times are always the worst. Friday I phoned

Dependent Oedema
Went to routine cardiologist appointment today and discovered why my ankles were often swollen. Although there are serious ailments that could cause lower leg and foot swellings, I learned that mine was "dependent or gravitational Oedema" which I had never heard of. Given exercise advice and Furosemide

Isosorbide
This has just been increased to 40mg twice a day from 30mg twice a day. Despite the small increase I have started to get really bad headache which I can't shake off. Has anyone else experienced this and if so is it short lived? I also take verapamil and furosemide. With many thanks,

A fearful 20-30 min Episode of Arrhythmia
I had a 20-30 min episode of arrhythmia. BP dropped to 92/52 , pulse 36, felt very weak and sleepy. It was 930 at night on August1st, 2020. Was worried thinking may be this is it! I am 81, will be 82 in October. paced around on driveway for 5-7 min, felt a bit better but not much. will try more vigorous

Do any of you men have this condition? I've read that liver disease can cause this (imbalance of testosterone and oestrogen) but it can also be a side effect of Spironolactone diuretic medication.
