I have been taking it for some years now, along with Furosemide 40mg. I can’t say that I have noticed any problems, but I do take Oxycodone and Pregabalin, so reasonably controlled.
Actually I just started spironolactone about 6 weeks ago and my RLS has been worse. I didn’t think about the connection . I take 2 or 3 mg.s required nightly and it usually keeps it under control
I don't honestly know the answer.
I do know that some diuretics e.g. furosemide can cause potassium depletion and low potassium is associated with RLS.
I also know that Spironolactone is supposed to be "potassium sparing" i.e. shouldn';t cause low potassium but nonetheless can cause electrolyte imbalance which also suggests it should be used with caution.
Presumably anybody prescribed a diuretic is prescribed it for a good reason. It can be prescribed for water retention or for raised blood pressure.
If for blood pressure, then there are alternatives, but unfortunately many of them do make RLS worse.
I'd say overall, it might be a matter of trial and error or to use a common UK saying "suck it and see". (But not literally).
