Day 8 and hubby is still alcohol free
Hubby still has tremors, which the alcohol nurse thinks should have stopped by now? What do you guys think? However hubby is now worried that it might not be just down to the alcohol and that he actually might have Parkinson's Disease like his dad did? The alcohol nurse has asked us to contact hubby's

Hubby update, saw Hepatology Registrar
Hubby was very shocked at what she said. Hubby had a CT scan recently, it shows the lymph nodes in his lungs are stable, they are about 12mm in size. His liver is still Decompensated. She told hubby that his condition is very serious. She said that if he does not stop drinking, then he probably has

Ibrance and hair ideas
Hi ladies, Hope you're feeling fine with brighter longer days coming. I've read several post about hair loss and hair thinning with Ibrance. I must say I loose a lot of hair every day and huge quantities when I wash it. I still have some hair but it really looks sad. I tie it back to forget about it

Losartan and angioedema
Hi, am a 74 year old woman with heart failure. Was originally on perindopril, bisoprolol and spironolactone. Over a year ago perindopril was swapped for losartan 25mgs due to persistent lip swelling. Still had over 30 episodes of lip and tongue swelling since. This March it got worse with 2 episodes

Carvedilol
I have cirrhosis and the ongoing stuff with it. I was on Omeprazole and Spironolactone. Told I was on it for life. No problem. But after a recent gastroscopy I was put on Carvedilol. I had dreadful side effects. Plummeting blood pressure and no appetite. I have barely eaten for over a week. I have spoken

Heart Failure
A short background: I had a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve repair 18 months ago. I made a good recovery however at the 6 month follow up I was told that the repair wasn’t 100% and I still had a slight leak. Since last September I’ve been getting more breathless again so I saw GP who did tests and then

Day 21 Hubby update - looks like he might be heading back to square one
Sorry but this is going to be a long one, as I need your support today, I think it is all getting to me and you guys are always telling me to look after myself as well. He has been drinking heavily again the last two days, from having just 2 or 3 cans of cider a day, he had 6 on Friday and 8 yesterday

Last November I've been told that I have some (not much) ascites and was prescribed Spironolactone 100mg one a day, I took the tablet, about 4 or 5 days later, my hands became dark or purple and swelled, my palms became red and still after 4 months they are the same ( before using this tablets I never

What should we ask at hospital?
Happy new year to you all. I wonder if you can help. As previously posted my partner has decompensated cirrhosis, portal hypertension, enlarged spleen and has now developed ascites. He's been laid up for about 8 weeks with no improvement. He can't sit up to eat and lays in bed all the time. He can make

Restless leg relief ideas
Hi, I am 30 and very active. I wondered if anyone can give me any tips. I had restless leg on and off in the past but recently it’s been every evening and it’s preventing me going to sleep. I’m not sure if upping the dose of spirolactone for my skin has worsened it (50mg-100mg) which happened in the

Feeling a little lost.
I’m new to AF and could really do with a bit of support. I had been unwell for some time. Struggled all year to lose weight but zilch came off. I was getting bigger. End of November I was admitted to A&E unable to breath when lying down and was panting. (Had been getting breathless when walking) Pulse

Good ECG results!
A few months ago I was more breathless and felt I had gone back to how I was when originally diagnosed with heart failure even to sleeping sitting up in bed and needing oxygen. I was so disappointed and heart failure nurses concerned. They have tweaked my meds again so increased diuretics by .5 mg

Thyroiditis, insulin resistant PCOS, menopause, High BP
Hi - Not entirely sure where to post this given the list of above diagnoses I have just been saddled with. Saw a private Endo, who was amazing, and has said I have all of the above. He's put me on propranolol (beta blocker) for the Thyroid and high blood pressure (180/150), metformin for the insulin
