Chiropractic/physiotherapy
Excruciating pain and almost total immobility finally forced me into the arms (pun very much intended) of a chiropractor and a physiotherapist. Five treatments (and £250) later and the pain has gone and I have regained my mobility. The cocktail of drugs that have been prescribed seem to have no effect

Does any one have a theory ?
Hi I wonder if any one can answer my very odd issue- I have been running for over a year and when I started I used to have very bad left calf strain so with rest and a support sock I got back training then after I graduated I tore my left quad muscle which put me out of action for another twelve weeks

Yesterday was results day.. a mixed bag
So I went back to Papworth yesterday to get my results of recent tests, have been left with mixed feelings really. CT scan showed no worsening since previous scan - air trapping and atelectasis with the obvious lung reduction from scoliosis but no evidence of bronchiectasis thankfully :) LFT's showed

Slipped disc - does an injection / spinal fusion really solve the problem?
Had back pain on and off for 5 yrs (had a few nasty falls in snow in 20s). 1 Sept 2012 had to call an ambulance as had sciatica, loss of bladder control and pelvic and back pain. Mri in hospital confirmed L4/L5 central prolapsed disc and degenerative disc disease. Also have Coeliac Disease (I like to

Any experience of spinal cord stimulation?
Pain mmgt specialist suggests I try but it sounds like a torture! I can't face going to the gp for a referral to discuss because that's an ordeal and I always work myself up and end up sobbing so they think I'm a nut and I usually walk out with a prescription for anti Ds which I don't think work and

Wheres the best pain clinic for internal spinal cord stimulator?
I have been all over the country going to pain clinics and neuro surgeons. I have syringomyelia which has caused lots of pain down my left leg and round the left side of my chest. I have been to top hospitals in Liverpool, Preston and London. Ideally I would want to go to a hospital in the north

Has any female with AMN had kidney problems? I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure early this year. Came out of nowhere.
I am 65 and started having AMN symptoms in my early 40's. I was diagnosed in 1998 after my second one week visit to the Mayo, first visit was in 1991 with no diagnosis. Then the very long chain fatty acid link with AMN was discovered and that is how they finally discovered what I have when I went back

Spinal fusion????
HI i had a 70% L4/L5 discectomy 5 years ago and was told i would more than likely need a fusion in time, well that may be now as MRI shows problem with remaining disc and a trapped nerve that is causing constant pain any way i'm enquiring if any one else has gone through this and how the fibro is affected

Is there anybody with Experience of Spinal Cord Stimulation
Hi I have neuropathic pain following a shoulder injury in 2000. For the last four years my pain consultant has recommended that I have spinal cord stimulation, but I have never been able to find people who have had positive success other than for lower back pain. Do you have - or know anybody who

Has anyone had a spinal fusion - with good results? And how do you get a 2nd opinion?
Hi I was rushed to A&E on the 1st of September - after the weekend had an MRI and discovered I had a large central prolapsed disc (L4/L5 - no exciting war story!). Had been chasing my GP for months with stiffness and sciatica pain but had been brushed off then bam - pure agony. After 3 days the

Hello :)
I've spent ages reading the forums - didnt realise they existed until recently! I've been looking for experiences with Xolair, as I have my outpatient appointment at Papworth tomorrow and want to ask them if they will consider it for me. I have severe asthma, with allergies - which I may cope with
