I saw an excellent Registrar who I had not met previously. He explained that they considered that my ablation had been very successful. Considering my health now I am towards the top end of good outcomes. My main problem is numb feet.
At the 3 months check I asked to have something to help my heart as I have fibrosis and a severly dilated left atrium. Since then I have been taking 2.5 Bisoprolol which reduces my heart rate by about 12%. It will probably be necessary for me to be on this for life together with an anticoagulant (Pradaxa) This is because there is always going to be the possibility of new arrhythmia pathways opening up.
I had a 7day loop monitor fitted by the local hospital several weeks ago. To my total disgust, and for the second time, they had not forwarded the results to the EP. This is despite me attaching a note to the monitor stating that the results needed to be sent on. The absence of the results was a huge disappointment as I still do not know exactly what my heart is doing when I am asleep.I am going to make a formal complaint as it really is not good enough.
The EP wants to see me again in 6 months.
