Abnormally high thyroid levels
Hi all, I 'd like some advice with these abnormally high test results. For the first time ever, my free T4 is out of range- too high-, and so is my Vit D. My TSH is also low, but I've had that before. I have Hashimotos and am on Levothyroxine 200mcg. My GP wants to reduce my Levo to alternating days

Blood Tests for Children
Hi all Finally managed to get blood tests for my children but annoyingly, my daughter was not tested for all cofactors - just B12. Son is being tested tomorrow and I want to give him a list to give to the nurse, but I can’t remember all the cofactors. Not one off my best days today! B12 Vitamin

Ferritin iron advice please
Hello, My recent ferritin results was 21% of range, even though iron was 78%. I did neglect iron the last few weeks a bit as I ran out of my usual iron tablets. I have now Solgar's Gentle Iron 20 and iron in a liposomal form (gel) 20 mg as well. How many should I be taking to raise it? Thank you

Low UIBC result from bloodwork?
Hi, All. I had bloodwork done recently and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the low UIBC might be affecting my RLS/PLMD. Ferritin was 169 (down from very high values after a blood infusion for rls in April 2021). The UIBC was flagged as Low at 126, Iron Saturation was flagged as high: Iron 172 UIBC

Timing your tea/coffee (even decaff) for best iron absorption from diet and supplements
Coffee with a hamburger meal found to reduce iron absorption from that meal by 39% and tea by 64% Having coffee one hour before a meal, no effect on absorption of food iron. Having coffee 1 hour after a meal had the same impact on absorption as having it during the meal. Link https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Pregabalin dose increase?
Hi, I am on Pregabalin 150 mg and still struggle with RLS, PLMD and twitching toes plus grinding teeth. Fortunately I have managed to get a super job and starting work tomorrow. Yippee 😁 Unfortunately, I will be starting work @ 7.00 a m. and it's full time. In the UK for some reason it's super hard

Advice on new results (Armour)
Hello, I don't know what else to do. I have been trying so hard and I feel today that this is it, it won't get better. Resigned I went to do my bloods this morning and here are my results on 2.5 grains on Armour: FT4 32% FT3 63% I had to test at 5 weeks, because of feeling unwell. B12 601 (187-883)

Blood test results, guidance before phonecall with GP
Hi allI hoped you could help have a look at my most recent bloods taken at GP surgery please? These are the repeat bloods done at GPs request after saying my antibodies were high, they didn't want to be over treating me but then they couldn't find my results. Bloods were taken before 9am, last dose

Understanding a LIVER MRI report regarding IRON (or not)
Just had a LIVER MRI. I see hepatologist (1st time) June 19 2023 but the GP just scripted the MRI NOW due to other issues including high ferritin. With negative(DNA for)hemachromatosis and normal iron saturation but fatigue and erythrocytosis/hemoglobin & FATTY ...the suspicion was iron overload in

What Bloodwork for initial RLS appointment?
I will be seeing someone in Dr. Winkelman's office next month. For my first visit, I would like to have all relevant bloodwork done BEFORE my appointment: iron, folate, B, etc. For example, there seem to be different "iron" tests. This will give us a heads-up on my RLS and something to talk about.

After 14 years in clinic with Professor Chaudhuri, told at every 6m appointment there have been no breakthroughs or new developments, have learned about iron infusion. I have requested

Understanding jump in platelet levels
Advice Please! After two years of PV being managed with venesections and aspirin, I moved into the high risk category by virtue of age and six weeks ago started on Hydroxy, 500mg Mon-Fri. Blood tests after two weeks showed a rather dramatic decrease in platelets 480 – 336, RBC no change at 6 and WBC

Iron tablets and T3 timing?
I'm trying to raise my low ferritin (33 at last test) and am taking ferrous sulphate twice a day (will be testing my levels again soon).I was previously taking my T3 meds once a day but am having a bit of trouble tolerating a recent 5mcg increase (was taking 10, now 15mcg) so I'd like to try splitting

My daughter's Iron panel results
Hello, Could I have help please with these results for my daughter? What does the overall pattern seem to suggest?
Iron
-good and no need to supplement?
TIBC and UIBC
are a bit alarming, but that may be because I don't understand the implications.
