Hi fellow suffererers, I've just been reading the posts re.Iron supplements. I take two Gentle Iron 20mg every other night, I notice that the first ingredient listed on the bottle is a Bulking Agent(Microcrystalline Cellulose),I was wondering if I can purchase a Gentle Iron without any Bulking Agent, please advise.BTW,what on earth would I do without the help and guidance of the people on this forum, thankyou.

It's a normal ingredient for many foods. The only side effects it has is more gas and stools.
I wouldn't be too worried, unless you have IBS or Crohn's or suchlike.
Good luck.
I don't think you can avoid it unless you get liquid iron. The body does not absorb it, but eliminates it. I wouldn't worry about it.
Ferrous Bisglycinate is also available as a patch - I have no idea if it works, but patch technology does bypass the digestive system.
I have IBS and noticed that the slow release iron every day has actually helped that condition as well as the RLS! It took a few months to help, though!!
