Valproate: new safety and educational materials to support regulatory measures in men and women under 55 years of age
I don't think there is any reason to expect many members to be taking any form of Valproate, but this is such an important issue, with such significant consequences, I've decided to post it anyway. Even if you are not taking it, someone you know might be. [i]

I didn't realise this could happen. ......
It turns out that stress and also heat from outside can make my
sodium
level drop dangerously to the point it nearly got so low I could have had a seizure which is not epilepsy related and end up in a coma. I did not know this would happen being so stressed out.

Tomorrow I get my Cardiac CT Results
In patients with established coronary artery disease, we quantified the whole-vessel 18F-
sodium
fluoride positron emission tomography (18F-NaF PET) coronary microcalcification activity (CMA) and change in calcium scores to compare disease activity and progression in those with and without CABG surgery

Switching from Disopyramide to Bisoprolol - any advice?
I am nervous about the switch, as Disopyramide is an anti-arhythmic (
sodium
channel blocker?) while (as I understand it) Bisoprolol is a rate control/beta blocker drug.

Just need to have a rant about this horrendous condition 😡
It I am also taking 40mg of Nortriptyline every night and 40-50ml of
Sodium
Picosulfate every night alongside the highest dose of Buscapan you can take. I am constantly batting with my doctors as they are reluctant to prescribe all this medication and do not take my condition seriously.

Natural T4 vs synthetic T4
Just wondering if she might be able to tolerate Armour or other NDT, eg. because the natural thyroxine is bound to a transport protein whereas the synthetic form is a
sodium
salt? Or maybe it's just that she's not a very good converter of T4 (whether natural or synthetic) to T3. Thoughts anyone.

Hey All, first time posting, I’ve had ibsd for over 10 years now and I have the occasional flare up which I deal with, however since Christmas when I was caught short on a walk my anxiety has been through the roof with going out and worrying about getting caught short again. I have been on Citalopram

I mention the low
sodium
because I have also had excessive urination (not a UTI) which I think may be part of the low
sodium
problem. I do not have Diabetes, and my B12, Ferritin, D3 and other B's are all good.

6 Months on and we’re making some progress 🌞🌞
Having found a Late Side Effects clinic thanks to this site around November 2023 I am so pleased with where I’m at. I’ve had the ‘poo’ tests done. There is nothing showing there. No IBS or IBD. I’ve had my kidneys scanned. Some scarring but no damage and fully functional. I’ve had my bladder function

Adalimumab serious side effects, any advice?
Sodium
levels had gone very low which could lead to a coma. I’m now taking SIS electrolytes to try and raise them with more blood tests next Tuesday. I have been advised to go straight to hospital if necessary.

Bowel and bladder problems after Radiotherapy
Hi, I am Maz and I am 76 years old, I still work but from home now. I have suffered with multiple sclerosis for over 40 years although apart from the early years it hasn't bothered me too much until 2013 when I was diagnosed with anal cancer stage T3. I underwent some chemo and a great deal of radiotherapy
