Kidney declining and need advice please
I’ve been diagnosed with CKD. I think stage 3. I am having another blood test in August 2022. If my levels have gone down further I will get specialist help. Would love your opinion on my levels so far as I’m concerned in my reduction in kidney function. August 2021 creatinine 98 umol/L ( range 45-84

Hello lovely ladies I hope you are all well. I had my day 5 scan and there are already some follicles over 16 mm, quite a few at 10-11-12-13-14 mm too. Doc was happy with everything. I'm starting Cetrotide today as well. Triggering Saturday night with Ovitrelle 250 and I have two other injections with

Loperamide or Budenoside
I have just been diagnosed with collagenous colitis and have a telephone appointment next week. From my research budenoside is a recommended treatment but my GP said it’s usually loperamide which is the same as Imodium. I’ve been using Imodium but as soon as it wears off the diarrhoea returns. Anyone

Undiagnosed painful bladder with neuropathic extensions in legs and up to head.
Please help. My partner was admitted to hospital 9 days ago with an extremely painful bladder/urination problem accompanied by unquenchable thirst. A sudden and desperate need to urinate without actually urinating anything much at all, and then having to constantly retry. It also seems to have a neuropathic

IBS and diverticulosis
I have been diagnosed with IBS and diverticulosis! My doctor prescribed dicyclomine, which does not help. I’m in pain every day! I’ve tried different diets and nothing helps! I’m at my wits end and dont know what to do. I’m either constipated or diaherra and sometimes it’s both. It’s ruining my

I have recently come to live in a Care Home and since then my skin has become unbearably dry & itchy. Dry eyes are particularly sore . I had to come off my MXT for 3 weeks recently because of a hospital procedure, and wonder whether that has exacerbated the position. I read about a condition ( begins

Head ache and exhausted
Hi all, I’m on Buserelin and elleste solo and I’m really struggling with the headache and feeling exhausted. I’d had a week off of work and spent it resting and had a massage but I feel exactly the same as before. It doesn’t seem to matter how well I sleep I’m the same level of tired. My headache is

Lip biopsy
I would pose this question on the Sjogren’s forums but have not had much luck getting replies there and know many of you will have had this procedure done as part of your AI journeys, so hope you don’t mind if I pose it here. That’s a Louis Theroux documentary we need to see: AI journeys. My ENT doc

Burning legs a statin side effect?
I started statins approx 2 yrs ago following a diagnosis of CVD. It’s hard to put a time on it but I’m sure that it’s since then that I started with burning legs. I’ve changed from Atorvastin to Simvastatin because I’d also started having discoid eczema. The eczema on my legs seems much better although

Sodium Oligomannate
Today, there was a new article in Parkinson's News Today on Sodium Oligomannate being studied for Parkinson's Disease because Chinese studies have been so successful using this seaweed-extracted sodium for Alzheimer's disease. Seaweed is sometimes available in supermarkets, and I also see that it is

Covid and AF
I tested positive with Covid on Saturday and feeling ill. I’ve had AFfor 8 years but luckily only had three bad attacks in the last 6 months. Now I’m getting supraventricular ectopics in long runs which are scary and make me feel I’m going to faint, and then ramp up my heartbeat. The GP knew little aboutAF

Lifestyle 🏊♀️ 🧘♀️ 🏃♀️💪🏻🚴🥗💧🍷🧂🍫👍 (long post alert - get a cuppa tea ☕️)
Lots of people ask about lifestyle & what has made a difference to ‘me’. Emphasis on me because everyone is so different. That said everyone should live as healthy as is possible, respecting ability, illness, and other limits people have. A 2 hr walk to me might be 10 minutes is all someone can manage

I’m afraid that I might have corneal neovascularization due to chronic eye inflammation. Any thoughts?
I’ve had chronic inflammation in my eyes for a couple of years now. For the first several months, I kept using hypromellose eye drops 3 times a day. It wasn’t until I got prescription glasses for my astigmatism when I realized I no longer needed the drops as badly as I used to. After some weeks with

Probiotics for Parkinson's disease: Current evidence and future directions 2020
So... I'm taking lactobacillus casei Shirota, which is both the probiotic used in the PD study that showed it helped with bowel movements and is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It has been shown to reduce the EBV titers in your system too. If you think PD is autoimmune

Trabeculectomy surgery fear and changes to eyes appearance
Hi, I've recently been told I need trabeculectomy surgery for my normal tension glaucoma. I'm terrified! On top of the fear of the actual procedure I'm worried that it might change the appearance of my eye. Does it? I'm trying very hard not to be vane about it but I'm only 44 and my eyes have always

Eye ache
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia although, I have had the symptoms for about 5 years. I've recently developed a dull ache through my left eye. I'm not prone to eye infections or anything like that and as this occurs more when I'm having a flare up I'm wondering if this is some kind

Changing brands of T4 - will I notice any difference?
Hi, I believe most of you here are in the UK so you may not know this brand (I'm in Belgium and I've had to order it from France), but I am about to switch from the Belgian brand L-Thyroxine to Thyrofix and I wondered whether anyone had any experience of the latter or a brand with the same or similar

Underactive Thyroid, Hashimoto, Anaemia or none of the above
Any thoughts on the below please? I am considered normal but hoping to see an Endo specialist privately. I do have some more blood test results re: blood count but thought these might be the key ones. Can add if needed Creatinine 83 (range 53 - 97) Calcium 2.41 mmol (no normal range) CKD 75ml/min/1.73m2
