GP versus Eye Casualty
Hello. I woke up this morning and my eyes were red and puffy, sore, itchy, swollen and discharging. Contacted my GP (by econsult, as phone lines engaged for first 3 hours at least). Then my instinct told me to ring eye casualty. They called me in, and did a thorough job, diagnosing allergic conjunctivitis

Anyone with experience of Lamotrigine as a preventative?
My consultant has prescribed Lamotrigine as a preventative. I’m wary as I had terrible side effects with topimirate. Beta blockers do not have any effect. So I have to try a third preventative in order to be eligible for cgrp injections. I don’t want to go backwards in my daily life with the mood swings

I'm new to the form. I have mcrpc. I was on lupron injections for almost 1 year. I didn’t like the pain for 5 days after injection plus insurance only paid half the cost so I got an orchiectomy. I don’t regret that. Several months after the orchiectomy, my PSA level went up so my urologist said it’s

Can Ketone Esters provide Ketones without a Ketone diet?
Back in 2013, Dr. Mary Newport gave a Ted talk on her re-discovery of MCT oil (she'd been aware of it for several years). In short, it greatly helped her husband with AZ. More recently, Ketone Esters are said to be even more potent than MCT oil. This video is from Dr Newport's talk. I've started looking

Efficacy of oral administration of licorice as an adjunct therapy on improving the symptoms of patients with Parkinson's disease, A randomiz
I don't have the complete paper, but this link shows a lot of it. They gave 5cc of licorice twice a day, which equals 136 mg of polyphenol-rich extract of licorice. I don't know how this relates to my Organic Licorice Root Extract 20:1 Powder https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079N4Z72C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06

Update; pred taper and back injecitons
First of all, the back injections work because now I'm back to pain and stints of short-term standing and then the walker. So, that is good news. Now, my back feels almost as bad as before but I am due for the second round of diagnostic injecitons on March 15th, analyze the pain diary and then hopefully

Practical Suggestions for PWP. Myopia
As the lucky chosen few to get pd it should be noted that a lot of us will suffer from vision issues as the rods and cones of the eye and other associated muscles succumb to dopamine depletion. One thing you can do is that as we become increasingly debilitated and spend alot of times indoors dont forget

Could I be in remission
Hi everyone I have been on here now a few years winging about my RA and getting great advice but good news this time. I did get a steroid shot in December on my left shoulder as the doc thinks I have tendon damage although my RA consultant thinks this pain is due to my RA' anyway I did also start

Preparing for a Colonoscopy when suffering with Cirrhosis. On going bowel issues. Future plans.
My Cirrhosis was discovered as I was having stomach pains and irregular bowel movements, often with a degree of urgency. This was last August. I have had Bloods, Fibroscan and Ultrasound and from this, diagnosed. To date I haven't seen a NHS Consultant, although I have been referred. I did pay for a

Practical suggestions for PWP. Drooling. Runny nose.
For drooling you can use a few eyedrops that contain atropine, put 3-4 drops in a cup of water and swish it in your mouth then spit it out especially before bed if nighttime drooling is a problem. For runny nose put a couple drops of atropine eye drops on a q-tip and swab your nose. Hang tough...cheers

Do these Fibro symptoms- improve?
I've started to have lots of visual disturbance, apart from the usual spaced out and feeling woozy. This last couple of weeks I've had difficulty eating as my jaw aches when I eat ... it's not tooth pain, but I can't even eat the soft crust on sliced bread, even having to overcook my veg, which I hate

Aquagenic pruritus/Polycythemia
Hello, I have recently started having severe itching (like prickling/burning) after showering. Initially I thought there was something in the water but after eliminating this possibility, I did some research and came across aquagenic pruritus. I am really scared since I read it is a specific symptom

Update on my phone appt. with Neph. last Wed.
3 months ago myNeph. had said he may take me off Prednisone in Jan. as an experiment to see if my kidney numbers stayed up since when I started Pred. they jumped from eGFR of 28 up to 50. It had been 35 - 30 the previous 4 or 5 years. My Jan. labs showed I'd dropped to 42 which is still my best in 8
