Interferons as the First Choice of Cytoreduction in ET and PV

As a result of some symptoms I reported to my Transplant Coordinator (“TC”) because I was recently prescribed Sodium Bicarbonate for the low CO2 result in my blood test, the TC ordered a Urine Culture test for me at LabCorp. It came back with a “colony” of bacteria in my bladder. I went thru 10 days

Psp and cataracts.
Hi friends just wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with a loved one who has psp and has has cataracts. At long last my mum got an appointment with a optometrist at the hospital. They said she has cataracts in both eyes and will need to have surgery. The doctor was quite scary telling me the complications

Dry eyes
Recently, I had an ANA speckled pattern 1:640. They ran all the little subtests and all came out negative. My eyes are so dry that I was thinking I might have sjogrens. Also, I have bad constipation that I take Linzess for. Optician said when I was getting tested for glasses that my glands were blocked

Scalp SLE diagnosed April 2021, conflicting/contradictory medications - any advice?
Hi I've had a biopsy which confirmed SLE for scalp last year in France (where I live).Having suffered health issues due to serious overmedication here before, I was reluctant to start on 400mg of Plaquenil. Got a 2nd opinion in Spain in May2021, who prescribed Diprosone (topical steroid cream) which

B1/Thiamine dosing
Influenced by a thread here, I started taking 200 mg b1/thiamine a day. Was doing fine, but tried to double that and felt funky. It's so hard to know if it is the b1 or not. I am following the b1 dosing protocol and keeping up on magnesium, sodium and potassium. I am curious about others who does

Eye Drops
I think I have accepted that I need eye drops, I have been struggling with dry eyes for a few years now, but I was desperate to try and treat the cause rather than use drops. However even though intermittently they improve, they always return. I’m not sure if it’s related to my thyroid issues or menopause

Excellent Letter in the Telegraph 24/8/22
I wish to express my thanks to Pam Perceval-Maxwell for her excellent letter in the Daily Telegraph 24/8/22, headlined "Living with the Anxiety of losing one's sight for want of an appointment for an essential injection". I meant to post sooner about this. This letter only echoes the Telegraph's

nefopam and glaucoma
Hi I am a health care assistant and I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my hips. My GP prescribed nefopam and I thought nothing of it. Since starting the nefopam I have not been able to sleep. My main concern is that I have acute angle closure glaucoma and I am worried about what damage it might

I had a nasty virus a few weeks ago and have felt really bad since i.e.usual pain and stiffness at onset of PMR. To top it all last week was told I am not able to drive again because my eyesight has declined
