Importance of ADT
Are there any good outcomes without using ADT ( hormone therapy)? I delayed it for a couple of years with bad results. My history --
2021
: Age 78. PSA was 7.79, Gleason 4+3=7. Small lesion in prostate, with perineural invasion. Had 20 IMRT for prostate. No ADT.

Next steps after PBRT
Hi all - First and foremost, Happy Holidays. I had my prostate removed 8/22, with subsequent Proton Beam treatment ending 4/23 (after PSA did not drop to undetectable) brought upon after a mild uptake (during a Petscan) in an obturator lymph node. I’m on Orgovyx and Xtandi, with a plan to stay on them

bile reflux
I thought I would bring you all up to speed on my endoscopy yesterday ( Friday 15 March ). I have to say I was surprised by the results, I have Bile reflux, something I didn’t even know existed. It was a bit of a shock if I am honet. So me being me , I read up about it when I got home, as most things

Promising metastasis prevention break-through
https://news.stanford.edu/2023/12/20/breast-cancer-metastasis-off-switch-revealed/ It turns out that both breast and prostate cancers are cold tumors so could help prostate cancer survival too.

Androgen Receptor Activity (ARA) for BAT
I read somewhere (here?) that ARA is a good predictor of BAT efficacy and that Johns Hopkins has a test for it. I have been trying to track down such a test, at Johns Hopkins or elsewhere, with no success. Any suggestions? Androgen receptor activity in prostate cancer dictates efficacy of bipolar

What testosterone test should I get in my final blood test prior to HT starting?
Hi All, I intend on getting my own blood test that will form the baseline for how the future HT is working. When it comes to getting testosterone tests, I note there are a few to select from. Which one should I get from the following list? 1: Testosterone Free/Total + SHBG 2: Testosterone Total

Is nmCRPC potentially curable?
I would appreciate any input on this. I searched the internet and found this article from Fred Saad: Treatment of nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: focus on second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors https://www.nature.com/articles/s41391-020-00310-3 I couldn't find anything

still here
Hi All I like to try and update my journey so you can see that there are some longer term survivors. I am still on 0 PSA with advanced cancer. My journey is on my bio. I was diagnosed at 47 and now I’m 54 with no progression. My primary treatment was Zytiga and it is still working. I take a concoction

Proton Treatment - When to start the ADT relative to simulation and CT of the prostate
I am talking to two radiologists who have a strong difference of opinion. One radiologist tells me I should start ADT two months before I do the space OAR, markers and simulation, and then start the radiation. Another doctor tells me I should start the ADT at the same time as I do the space OAR and simulation

PSA trippled since last Lupron infusion
My PSA was 0.05 between February 2023 and June 2023, then in September it ticked higher to 0.06 and at yesterday's Lupron injection it was 0.17. Should I be concerned? Anybody with similar experience: what did you do? Am I CR or still CS? Should I ask for Lu-177/Pluvicto ASAP? Thanks for reading.

happy holidays …. And a quick update
Just a quick note to wish all the warriors here a happy holidays with friends and family. As an update, I’m off all treatments and my psa remains <0.014. I remain grateful for the respite. My last degeralix injection and darolutamide was in May, and the SBRT to my ribs and neck about 2 years ago

Phase 1 trial participation Nurix NX-1607
I have not been on any treatment since I stopped Docetaxel chemo last year except Prostap injections every 12 weeks. My PSA went up from ~9 to 20 from May to September. I have just been invited to take part in a phase 1a safety and tolerability study of NX-1607. It aims to inhibit CBL-B (Casitas B-lineage

Radiation PSA, Orgovyx, Bone density
Rouge clone radiation on 10/31/23 has PSA continuing to drop to 0.85. MO plans to monitor PSA before requesting PSMA scan (insurance) unless it is increasing. Considering switch from Eligard to Orgovyx if PSA looks good in early Feb since Orgovyx apparently has less severe SE and doesn't tie me to

I have now been on Firmagon (hormone therapy) for 23 months .I have stage 4+4 with an original PSA of 375.I had 6 rounds of chemo which killed off the majority of the cancer in bones and lungs.Only a couple of tiny spots in the lungs. My professor tells me i have had a very good result on many trips
