New way to delay resistance in prostate cancer
In vitro/in vivo but ready for clinical. I have found and tried to read the paper...what I understood is "great news!" but don't ask me to explain better than this: Prostate cancer treated with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) can (will) develop into castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), making

in vitro/in vivo but interesting: another therapeutic path of Enzalutamide
"This study reveals a previously unrecognized function of enzalutamide and AR by regulating PEX10 and suggests a new strategy of enzalutamide application in prostate cancer treatment." Not applied to any trial yet but an important finding! https://www.nature.com/articles/s41419-024-06937-7

Evening Primrose update
Hi. I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer a year ago. I had surgery and radiotherapy and was put on Letrozole. I have had a few problems with the Letrozole, which saw me come off it for a while. I was put back on it and the Oncology Nurse told me to take Evening Primrose oil. it’s been 3 months

I’ve had the Bone Marrow Transplant!!! That was actually the easiest part. 5 hours of fluids leading up to the BMT and the previous 5 days of chemo infusions (day5 was the worst) were much harder. Chemo: Fladarabine -6 thru-2 with addition of Melphalan on day-2. When you start treatment (chemo) for

Final lap?
Four years on and grateful for that. Enzalutamide stopped working earlier in the year. PSA doubling. Lesion in spine led to pathological fracture and some pressure on the spinal cord. Radiation to spine and pain relieved. Docetaxel started but discontinued due to severe allergic reaction. Nothing for

Lymph node deposits (aka TD's)
Dear all Hoping you are all as OK as possible. Having been originally diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb 2019, after which I had a lumpectomy and 3 lymph nodes removed(the latter were clear), I have been back and forth for many ops due to recurrences including a radical mastectomy after recurrence

Started Xtandi and AST spiked!
Hey everyone...don't know if anyone has had this experience. I'm about 12 months into my PCa battle...been on Firmagon for most of it (including now). Started on Zytiga last year but had to stop due to elevated liver enzymes, so I switched to Casodex about two months ago, but PSA numbers started to

Am I headed for Radiation
hello all. Wishing the best to everyone. Just a quick question that I think I know the answer to. After RP in June 2023 pathology was Gleason 4~3 with SVI, clear margins, lymph node dissection negative, prostate 30% involved. First PSA test all at quest was an ultra sensitive post prostatectomy test

Happy anniversary?
It was exactly 1 year ago that I got my first elevated PSA test that started my prostate cancer experience (I don’t like to say “Journey”). Details in my comic. (http://burnscomic.com) After that, I had another PSA test (still elevated a month later), a pelvic MRI (showing pi-rads 5 areas), then a

Update for alperk
PET Scan showed left hip radiated lesions SUV dropped from 30.2 to 3.5, 20.4 to 2.8, 7.5 to 2.5. Nothing in head, neck, organs. Now the bad news: Multiple new lesions in left hip with increased PET intensity from SUV 2.6 to 33.6 and left lower pelvic lymph node with SUV 16.1. PSA following 4/4/24 radiation

Similar experiences and outcomes when cancer ‘wakes up’ about a year out from Docetaxel? PSA slow rise, now 1.9
Hey, Looking for hope…aren’t we all? Husband had good results from Docetaxel, obliterating many bone mets and lowering PSA. Had CT/bone scan a couple months ago, showing suspicious areas. Dr. Ordered PSMA PET scans. Went over results with Dr. George today. He took my husband off Nubeqa due to

This study indicates not enough metastatic PCa patients are having Next Generation Sequence testing (NGS)
This cohort study indicates that more and earlier NGS testing may prolong the radiographic survival of patients with BRCA or other homologous recombination repair (HRR) alterations. ADT’s effectiveness and reason for limited success of chemo on prostrate cancer
I was wondering why they don’t just give chemo for Prostrate cancer irrespective of hormone sensitivity. Chemotherapy drugs destroy all rapidly dividing cells (even hair) so why would prostrate cancer cells be spared? I was trying to understand if ADT really kills PC cells or just makes them hibernate

palliative radiation treatment questions
In my prior (first) post, I shared about my 82 year old father’s condition. Thanks for all the helpful and thoughtful responses from this community. He has gone off Goserelin (ADT) injection and now just on bicalutamide pills. As his testosterone seems to have returned, he’s now having more energy
