hi all,
I am so happy to report that my dad has really improved following terrible side effects with his radiation treatment. I have posted before -he was having awful GI side effects which seemed to get worse following radiation completion. But this is all subsided which we are grateful for.
dad PSA at diagnosis was 21 with spread to pelvic LNs and a spot on the hip bone. No pain. He started Lupron end of November 2023 and had 4 weeks of radiation therapy. He just had his first appt following treatment: PSA is 0.5 and testosterone is negative ! (-20)
question: I read that after Lupron pSA should be under 0.1. Is this true ? And Should we be concerned that he’s not there yet? Not sure if there is a time element to what I just quoted- he’s been on Lupron for 4 months.
other question: how often do you get PSMA if you have cancer that has spread? His doctor at Penn said no need to get scans given the numbers, does this sound right?
thank you all in advance!
