Immune suppressants?
Im not seeking any medical advice with this question. Do any of you know why some of us, post transplant, take different immune suppressants? I take 2 mg of Advagraf (slow relase) once a day. Others that i have met on the liver unit that were transplanted around the same time as me, December 2019, or

Temgesic or Subutex

Kidney Biopsy and igA nephropathy (UPDATE POST-BIOPSY)
Hi. I am due for a kidney biopsy next week and wasn't given much tips on what to prepare or not do post biopsy other than stay in bed for 6hrs. Doctor told me that I might have igAn based on my proteinuria and high hematuria. I am very concerned as I am only 24 years old and a female trying to start

Coming off BP tablets
Just over two years ago, I felt a large mass in my abdomen, which was found to be a

cyst
. Last week I had the cyst drained. Over 500ml fluid was aspirated. The benefits of this have been enormous. My blood pressure has normalised. My GP has recommended stopping all meds.

Sleep problems
I am late stage four kidney disease with a GFR of 20. Recently I have had difficulties sleeping at night and wonder if that is common with people at my stage. If so what do you do about it as it adds to the overall feeling of fatigue. My doctor says I am too old for sleeping pills whatever that means

From ana positive in past to ana negative??
I have always been ana positive in the past and my recent one was negative which puzzled the rheumatologist, as I have been suffering from increased inflammation which showed in my bloods. I have been feeling dreadful and she says it's due to increased lupus activity. Has anyone else had this happen

Alan Hyde - QE Hospital Birmingham.
Many people who have received their liver transplant at the QE, will most likely know of Alan Hyde. Alan has been a strong supporter of the QE for over 14-years, visiting patients on the liver transplant ward (726), Alan was also chairman of the “Queen Elizabeth Liver Patients Support Group”, and featured

College is worse than hell.. but a bit hopeful
I'm currently in my Second Year and (was) thinking of focusing on English Literature as my main subject. But now I'm regretting it. None of the other subjects interest me . Economics is one of my subjects which I can study well and I always tend to score the highest scores in it. But I'm not that interested

Hi, I'm 20 years old. I have sickle cell disorder. But what bothers me most is that my eyes is always yellow, and it makes me feel shy.
I try to always drink water but most times drinking water makes me feel nauseated. I don't know why?

Stimulant laxatives (bisacodyl, senna and sennosides, sodium picosulfate) available over-the-counter: new measures to support safe use
Much of the press has carried this story in various forms. I thought taking you to the original might be helpful. Do read carefully. [i]

Kidney failure following liver transplant
I'm now 7 weeks post transplant and my liver is working perfectly, but at clinic this week my kidney blood tests were elevated to moderate (stage 3) kidney failure. Is this common following a transplant and is it something that will improve or continue to be a concern or get worse? P.s. I am diabetic

Would you recommend the use of sauna for someone with CKD or Kidney transplant? Any good experience?
I have been reading a lot about the benefits of infrared sauna in general about health(cardiovascular, inflammation, cognitive, hormonal). Some studies mention benefits to the kidney function (http://europepmc.org/article/MED/17267744). Before buying one I would like to know if anyone had positive results

confused over GFR readings
Roughly a year ago a blood test revealed my gfr as 82 with the comment stage 2 chronic kidney disease. This initially alarmed me so I googled it and was reassured that this is normal for my age (72). It also implied that it wouldn't ever get back to a higher level. A couple of weeks ago I had a routine

I have noticed that when I’m on my second or third drain my epilepsy comes on I go blank and I struggle to think. Apparently there is no known link
