My name is Rob from Florida. I appreciate all of you.
I currently have a gfr of 18 which just 11 months ago was between 29 and 32. I have heart disease and diabetes as well. I am 56 years old and am currently taking many tests to get on the donor list for the University of Miami. I am scared I am going to die. I try to stay positive but it is difficult.

Peritoneal Dialysis
I would just like to share my experience with peritoneal dialysis. If you haven't read my previous post introducing myself, here a shorter version. I started off with emergency hemodialysis due to high blood pressure. Once my blood pressure was stabilized I was able to get my surgery for my catheter

I have recently been introduced to this woman and find her YouTube lectures fascinating. I have chosen to take what I want and sit on the fence with some of what she says. My recent diet change borrows from Atkins and from Paleo. https://youtu.be/KAGEhkZ-ssY I watched one on Salt the other day and

Baby with sickle cell
My baby is currently 2 months and was diagnosed with scd ss. The doctor told me that she will still live a normal healthy life but would just require more medical attention. I want to know how early does pain episodes start and what are signs to look for? She is currently on antibiotics.

Dark circles after transplant
Hi everyone A while after my transplant the area around the eyes got considerably dark, similar to before the surgery. This was more pronounced when I was taking oxycodone. Now that I no longer take oxycodone, I still have dark circles but they're not as noticeable as before. The medications I'm on currently

Finally obtained my test results from GP
It took about 3 weeks but I have them.... Anyone fancy trying to interpret these? My plan was to privately re-test my Thyroid in December (approx 3 months after the first lot to rule out thyroid levels being impacted due to illness/viral recovery) I can only post one picture but I have these results

Dad has stage 5 CKD
My Dad has chronic nephritis and now he is down to only 14% function which puts him at stage 5 :( The Dr is not suggesting dialysis, my dad is 86 and has not really asked why it's not being offered. I am looking at diet etc and any supplements that might help him but everything I read online seems to

Confused about fluid restriction
Hi all hope you are all doing well My gfr is 7% and not on dialysis but have my fistula ready for action. For the last 15months I've been on fluid restriction of 1000mls and 160mg of diuretic. All was going well until the last 10 weeks and all I seem to do is gain fluid. Saw my consultant Wednesday and

Wondering about Social Life in HD Centers
Hi All! I am 64-year-old man with a long history of dealing with CKD and dialysis. I started doing peritoneal dialysis in 2005 and continued until I got a transplant in 2009. I think I was probably lucky that I didn't have to wait longer. My kidney has been holding up, but my eGFR has been hanging around

Derealisation / dissociation disorder
Hi guys, So my journey started May 2016 I lost my mother aged 28. After months of excruciating grief I got a terrible virus (labrynthitis) in December last year which by January hadn't gone. In January 2017 I got a dissociation disorder. This presented itself as derealisation. It's hard to explain
