Folate research
I came across an article in Medscape that descibes a research project involving folate. The research examined existing data. Here is the link for the article. I hope it is available to everyone. https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/981832 Quoted here is the only part of the article that mentions B12

Hi just need a question answered by you clever people.I have a painful knee and my GP sent me for an X-ray.It showed up deposits of calcium so am having some blood tests. I have B12 at the doctors 3 months but also inject myself every 3 weeks.Could B12 cause high levels of iron to cause this calcium

Low B12 and headaches
I suffer with low iron and low b12. I had an iron infusion 10 days ago, prior that I and a persistent headache for a week. I had a b12 injection 2 days after the iron infusion. The headache went 2 days after the b12 jab, but then came back 3 days later with really bad dizziness. I’ve had another b12

how much gentle iron?
what dose should i start on… i have bought iron bisglycinate 20 mg. But have been recommended 320 mcg ferrous sulphate. So very confused at the different levels. How do these figures relate to each other? And do you have to take gentle iron on an empty stomach? The bottle says to take with food. Any

B12 advice needed
Hi everyone. I posted a while back and you were all so helpful. I've taken a lot of advice from this forum, and my blood test results from last week show that all your advice has really improved my thyroid function. I got on top of my supplements and increased my Levo to 200mcg a day. My test results

B12 differences??
I haven't been able to get my usual Hydroxocobalamin jabs from Versandapo for days. I have the 1ml/ 1mg size EOD. My thigh muscles have shrunk so l do sub. cut. tummy alternatively with intra. mus.thighs. The alternative order appears to be Cyanocobalamin. Why is this not so popular here? Efficacy

Prolactinoma and all things thyroid
Hi everyone, I am looking to anybody who may be able to offer some guidance and support on the below issues. I was diagnosed by endocrinologist in late 2021 with low vitamin D and prolactinoma due to my menstral cycle stopping. At diagnosis my thyroid results were: FT4 13.7 pmol/L, (9-22) FT3 4.65

Iron/Ferritin
Dear All,I have now had my latest blood tests back and my ferritin levels, with the help of iron tablets, has risen from 45 to 120. However, unlike others in our group, my RLS are still pretty awful. Do I have to be patient and hope the RLS now improve???? Otherwise it will be pretty depressing. Sue

B12 roller coaster...
I've been on a B12 roller coaster for a few years now. My symptoms seem to correlate with when my levels drop but I do not have anemia. I am allergic to B12 shots (had 3 at different times before they had to come to a halt for throat/tongue swelling) and my doc said well, go to a hematologist. I feel

Stem Cell Transplant (stc) after care
Can someone who has been through a sct, or their carer, give me info about the time after hospital discharge please? We live more than 30 minutes from the transplant centre so the hospital is providing us with a flat in Bristol where my husband will be my carer. I know the early days he'll need to

Is Anyone Using Indivina HRT With Success (no thyroid med interactions and weight gain)?
I am considering trying Indivina HRT due to it being hair growth friendly as I have hair thinning, and also to prevent further bone loss ( I have early onset osteoporosis). If anyone who is hypo and uses Indivina, I would be grateful if they could advise on how successful they are finding it, particularly

Dad’s iron studies
Hello all My dad has just collected his latest iron studies prior to call from GP at some point today. Would you mind taking a look and interpreting please. Have tried to use the Polish calculator to work out percentages but there’s an error and I can’t use it. 23/11/22 CRP <4 (0 - 9) Ferritin

Temgesic - Buprenorphine difference
Hello team 😊 I have recently started Temgesic 🥳🥳 and my neuro advised breaking the dose to twice in 24 hours. I made a straight switch, (with a 12 or so hour break from Oxynorm) and so far everything is very positive. After many years of broken sleep, say around 4/5 hours a night, I can now sleep

covid booster
Hi I live in Northern Ireland I was wondering what everyone’s status is with regard to covid boosters. I have had my 2 primary vaccines and 1 booster last November, my GP hasn’t called me for further boosters, and I have been told I’m not on the vulnerable category list, although I was during lock

Monocytosis?
Hey folks, I searched but saw no other posts on this. Yesterday had my 6 month check up, new doc, didn't review tests with me but summarized. This morning I saw online that my monocytes have gone sky high (2.0 versus .4 etc.) registering as high on the test as well (in fact, they spike to the same

Had a blood test at GP's, not for CLL
I was called to my GP's for a blood test related to my new heart medication. I also had an Echocardigram and a 24 hour monitoring tape. Surprise, surprise no one seems to know where they have sent the results. I have telephoned every department I can think of but no one admits to knowing anything!!
