B12 differences??

I haven't been able to get my usual Hydroxocobalamin jabs from Versandapo for days.

I have the 1ml/ 1mg size EOD.

My thigh muscles have shrunk so l do sub. cut. tummy alternatively with intra. mus.thighs.

The alternative order appears to be Cyanocobalamin.

Why is this not so popular here?

Efficacy, expiry date, side effects???

I a bit reluctant to inject less ,I do have an occasional 2 day gap but some symptoms start returning.

Only the feet stuff is immovable.

I do have other health problems that can muddle up accuracy of symptoms. Hey ho.(help)

versandapo are constantly running out of stock of Panpharma B12 depot . If you scroll down , you will find the box where you can type in your email address , and they will send you an email when they have stock again .Then you must order quickly , or they will be gone again . Versand don’t have any Panpharma B12 ( Cynocobalamin) either .

They do have Pascoe B12 depot ( Hydroxocobalamin) 1 packet at €19.69. Or 100 for €73.99 - These ampoules are 1.5 x 1 ml

bodfeld-apotheke.de do have Panpharma B12 depot , but they will only let you have 3 packs .

Cynocobalamin works well but you will need to inject more often . That’s why the NHS changed from Cynocobalamin to Hydroxocobalamin. ,several years ago . Hydroxocobalamin apparently stays in the system longer than Cynocobalamin.

Thanks so much Wedgewood.

Daft that one can buy 3 ampule injection kit Hydro. from a 'Clinic' in Brighton for £100, not not OTC from a pharmacy.

Now, who does one blame for this???

And a box of 10 on Etsy for £50,

This is cashing in on peoples difficulties.

hydroxo is generally used in the UK. Not entirely clear why though may have something to do with the risks associated with patients who have lebers syndrome using cyanocobalamin. Lebers is a rare genetic condition, mainly affecting males and it seems to be inherited but its possible that people may not be aware of the condition.

I hope that the doctors in the USA know this , because Cynocobalamin is the B12 that is commonly used there ! Was this known when Cynocobalamin was the form used here in the U.K. I wonder . I read that we here in U.K. changed to Hydroxocobalamin because it could be injected less frequently , but perhaps it was because of the risk of Lebers. . … or perhaps both 🤔.

The doctors here in the US know little to nothing about B12, let alone the various forms. Our biggest medical system in the state doesn’t even have a medical code for hydroxycobalamin so my medical record says I use cyanocobalamin even though I have repeatedly asked for that to be corrected as I had an anaphylactic reaction to cyano years ago. Sigh…

when hydroxocobalamin was first introduced in the UK it was 1 per month - only later that it was made less frequently.

The CDC had a microsite on B12 at one point but it's now gone - lebers is mentioned as a counter indication for B12 but in the US its unfortunately seen as a blanket counter indicator for B12 rather than a counter indicator for cyanocobalamin specifically

Goodness ! I always think of the U.S. as being at the forefront of medical knowledge . BUT , b12 isn’t a money -spinner I suppose! It’s all so depressing .
