I suffer with low iron and low b12. I had an iron infusion 10 days ago, prior that I and a persistent headache for a week. I had a b12 injection 2 days after the iron infusion. The headache went 2 days after the b12 jab, but then came back 3 days later with really bad dizziness. I’ve had another b12 yesterday. The dizziness has gone but I still have the persistent headache.
Is this normal with low B12 ? Some days the headache even effects my daily life. It’s mainly on the right side of the head
The doctors or nurses do not give me any advice on b12 side effects or low b12 side effects. B12 levels were 91, so quite low.
The doctor has referred me for a CT scan next week
Any advice would be appreciated to stop me overthinking this

Yup, for me, when am B12 deficient I have a constant headache. Only with sufficiently frequent B12 injections does the headache go away. I need injections every other day to really properly prevent it.
Worth having the CT scan to check for other things, but sounds very much like what I have.
The recommended treatment by NICE now for migraines is b2 supplementation. You need to take the higher dose of 400 mg and it usually comes with magnesium which is also known to alleviate headaches or migraines.
It makes sense because with p.a we are very low on the b vitamins along with all the other vits/ minerals as we can’t absorb properly.
It does take a while for the b2 to kick in for migraines usually about three months but it’s not going to do any harm to take them along with whatever else you think will help you until they do kick in.
I’m in my second week of them and although no massive changes in the migraine or headaches I have seen a huge turnaround in my tongue, every so often I get bad sores on my tongue and it’s usually very beefy / glossy looking but that has pretty much gone so im guessing I must have been very low in b2.
It was a young ,thinks outside the box gp that suggested b2- riboflavin treatment to me,he knows I self inject,he showed me on the computer that NICE recommended it.
