I got impetigo and I’m due to get my Covid booster
hi all, hope you are all enjoying the nice weather although from indoors. I was going to the gym up to last week and since Tuesday I got impetigo in my face. At first I thought it was a cold sore but I don’t usually have cold sores and this was itchy and had a runny liquid so I went to the pharmacy and

I want to exercise but... Shin Splints
I used to be reallt fit and would go to the gym 4 sometimes 5 times a week. This was before they all shut due to covid. Sunbeds are a Group 1 Carcinogen!
😔 Sadly, way too may lives have been lost to sunbed use. They are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 1 carcinogen - this is its highest cancer risk category. Furthermore, a review by IARC found that first exposure to sunbeds before the age of 35 years increases

Possible stress fracture (tibia) - so frustrated
I did also have pain in my left tibia at that point but assumed it was just
shin
splints
. I gave the heel time to recover then went back to the running, easing gradually into the programme but after a 20 minutes run my left shin was really sore.

athletes foot ?
I’ve always had problem with my pinky toe as it bends under my other toe. It’s never been this bad. Normally when it’s sore and itchy I apply athlete foot cream and it goes within a few days as sweat gets trapped easily. I’ve been using athletes foot cream for 3 weeks now and I don’t think it is that

VAT burn
🔥 Amy Callaghan MP’s VAT BURN campaign calls on the UK government to remove VAT from sunscreen products that have a health benefit. We should all know the health benefits that a “quality” (i.e. SPF 30+ product with a minimum 4 star UVA protection) sunscreen has on preventing the UK’s most common

New to this
Hi All, I'm so new to this that I'm still in the diagnosis phase. Went in for regular blood work today and came back with lymphocytes at 7.7K, low monos, which triggered a slid, which shows atypical lymphocytes. Language below: Lymphocytosis with atypical lymphocytes and smudge cells. Clinical

OK, I'm starting from the beginning!
Right, after many attempts at restarting at week 6 and repeatedly going off the boil, I have decided to go right back to square one and start from the very beginning (a very good place to start 😉). Please may I ask you all to keep me accountable? I can do it, it's just a question of getting my mojo

Even in winter months UVA rays are very much present!

CLL / Skin Cancer - getting it checked in the UK
Just saw another post about the risks of exposure to the sun. We spend a lot of our summer sailing around the Brittany coast of France, which is beautiful and also sunny, so being in the sun is unavoidable to a degree. I am not a sun bather but always use factor 50, wide brimmed hat etc and always seek

CLL and skin cancer
The CLL webinar yesterday was all about various skin cancers and early warning signs. With blood cancer, we are more vulnerable. It was very interesting with different people discussing the treatment they had had. Something which came out was that it's important to obviously get treatment quickly but

I ended up with
shin
splints
which stopped me running 2 weeks before the race, they were fine during the race though. Lots of knee strength training, it really made a difference. Single leg squats everyday, 45 per day.

Skin Cancer is the World’s most common cancer!
SKIN CANCER IS THE WORLD’S MOST COMMON CANCER! Check your skin monthly and get to know every lump, bump, mole, freckle and mark. Keep an eye out for anything NEW, that looks or feels UNUSUAL, or is CHANGING in size, shape, colour, surface characteristics or sensation - and if in doubt get it checked
