athletes foot ?

I’ve always had problem with my pinky toe as it bends under my other toe. It’s never been this bad. Normally when it’s sore and itchy I apply athlete foot cream and it goes within a few days as sweat gets trapped easily. I’ve been using athletes foot cream for 3 weeks now and I don’t think it is that no more. There red spots and it only really itches at night. It also only effects that area hasn’t spread my partner hasn’t got it so that’s also why I feel like this could be something else.

Thank you

I'm not a medic, but it looks like athletes foot to me....and in exactly the same place as me...these bent wee toes are a problem 🥴I've found Daktarin spray works better than the cream. I find the cream tends to keep the area moist whereas the spray is dry and powdery.

I was just managing to get the area healed, stopped using the spray, and it returned. So, I've started using the spray every few days even if I don't have any signs of athletes foot and not had a breakout for a while.

I've had similar problems this winter & I think mine might be chilblains. The spots are quite hard when they're itchy at night & the skin all round is really red. Then it all but disappears until the next time.

This is a sort of thing that pharmacists can diagnose. Or a GP. It could be all sorts of things including a type of eczema called Pompholyx . So it would be worth getting a proper diagnoses.

It certainly looks like athletes foot! It might be worth using a stronger strength cream (if you haven't already, Dakatarin is available over the counter). Allowing the skin to dry out as often as possible too.

I've found that using a velcro strap to fix one toe to the next stops my toe from wandering underneath the next one, so that might be something to try in future?

Looks as if could be pompholyx. When I get that it clears up with an iodine based antiseptic twice a day. My podiologue recommemded this after nothing else worked - simplest treatment and the most effective!!

I think helix helix could be right. Looks more like pompholix to me - I've had both. I suggest going to your local pharmacy and asking the pharmacist to look at it.

I would check with GP but does look like Athletes foot. I’ve had it since being on Baricitinib. I had lots of different creams etc but the podiatrist told me about Lamisil. This worked and you just spray it on area once a day for seven days. Hope you get it sorted soon xx
