Hi Clifden1, Well done on getting through your surgery, be kind to yourself and take care. From a fellow 3C, my last chemo was in November 2010. I am alive and well and misbehaving, you can too. 😘

Let's just say your a very lucky girl and have a very high chance of cure so break out the champagne you have a lot to celebrate. Well done you. Sue xx PS By the way take it easy and no heavy lifting you don't want a hernia, make sure it's not the huge bottle of champagne haha 😂😂

I second that about no heavy lifting, or use of abs. Even when the outside looks healed, you have to take care of the inside. I have a little hernia which I'm sure could have been avoided if I had understood that better. x

I'm sorry to hear that they don't warn you when you come out of Hospital. Take care Sue xx

I live in Spain so I think some things got lost in translation. 😃

Hello Cilfden1Lucky you! Sounds like the chemo really did the job and now you are ‘no evidence of disease’ or NED as you will read in some posts.

I remember finding it hard to take in having had 4 chemo and then this big op... but yes celebrate gently when you feel up to it! xx

Hi Clifden, delighted to read that you got through the op OK & it was a bonus to wake up with no stoma. I had my op first, they took any cancer they could see with the naked eye & then the 6 chemo after cleans up anything left behind. You had it in reverse & the chemo did the job it's supposed to do but you still needed the op to make sure there was no more cancer left. Now just take it easy & get your strength back for the other 6 weeks of chemo. Not sure if that answers your question but hopefully it does. Mind yourself & treat yourself for getting through the op with great results 🌸
