Sorry to hear this has been added to the mix. I’ve had aspergillus for a number of years and, like you, was a bit concerned about the treatment causing problems. Don’t worry. You’ll be closely monitored with regular blood tests. The treatment caused some fluid retention and caused my cortisol levels to drop so I had to stop treatment and take hydrocortisone till my levels increased. I was then able to restart the treatment some months later. It’s definitely not a quick fix! I hope this helps and wish you good luck.
Hope the anti-fungals work really quickly for you.
Hi Coral, I have aspergillosis (CPA) and COPD, if you haven’t found it yet there is a very good web site aspergillosis.org which has lots of excellent info on on the disease. There is also an active Facebook group ‘aspergillosis support uk’ run by the National Aspergillosis Centre from Wythenshaw hospital in Manchester who a world leader in aspergillosis
Hope the treatment gets rid of this infection quickly, as the treatment itself seems quite severe. All best of luck and best wishes x
