Prednisolone side effects
I feel like this might seem like a slightly random question but does anyone else find that taking prednisolone for
asthma
causes constipation? I have
severe
asthma
and have fairly frequent courses of prednisolone which works wonders for my breathing but I always find it bungs me up a lot.

Hi everyone
Well I thought nothing could be worse to experience than 2020. How wrong was I ☹️ I am 4 weeks post ostomy operation, after my hubby found me unconscious on bathroom floor. After a vast number of doctors and medics battled to keep me alive after crashing more than once, I was transferred to hospital

Doctor saying it isn't asthma, but I'm not really following what he says
Does anyone have any experience with their doctor saying its not asthma, when pushed he said might be a mucus plug, but said this was caused by inflammation which is what I thought asthma was? Had a few exacerbations lately and it's horrible to feel so out of control. Back on prednisone and amoxicillin

Anyone have experience with symbicort? Being swapped to it as apparently they are trying to reduce salbutamol use?
I've just had a review for my asthma and they are changing me to symbicort 2 puffs twice a day and I'm now to use it as my reliever too? I'm currently on Fostair 1 puff twice a day and ventolin but she said with current guidelines they are trying to reduce the amount of salbutamol use as its better to

Most people with asthma
Assuming it's not those with
severe
asthma
, so does it include those on daily strong steroid inhalers, those on lesser steroid inhalers or maybe those that only need to use their ventolin every now and then? Would be grateful to have your views on this.

Anybody suffers from seasonal asthma and use inhaler on demand?
I suffer from seasonal winter asthma. Currently on mart regimen fostair nexthaler 100/6 twice a day. Previously was on becotide twice a day and ventolin as required. I usually stopped taking them before summer and start again beginning of autumn. My mum told me this combi should be taken all year round

Asthma, Inhaled Corticosteroids, and Covid Vaccine Group 6
It has not yet been proven that people with
asthma
taking ICS are not at greater risk of
severe
illness than people without
asthma
if those non-asthmatic covid patients are treated with ICS.

Scared
Hello all, I am constantly scared and worried. I was diagnosed with radiation enteritis in April but I am too scared to eat anything (other than soup or yoghurt) as I really cannot deal with another bowel obstruction. I have 2 stomas (colostomy and an urostomy). The urostomy is fine but the colostomy

How is asthma classified?
, we've heard lots about
severe
, moderate and mild
asthma
. When I was a kid, I was always told my
asthma
was
severe
but no one has ever had this conversation with me since! Does anyone else find themselves in the same position? Is there a way to tell based on medication?

Spriva for Asthma
Good Day Hope everyone is looking forward to the relaxation of lockdown regulations, I am . I have been prescribed for my 4 lung problems but the specialist says that I do not have COPD but has prescribed Spiriva but when I research this drug it says that it is not for asthma and only for COPD. I would

Group 7 vaccine group
I have
severe
asthma
and have attacks and am on Seretide. I have been shielding again as received a call to last year. Now just found out I am in group 7 for vaccine. Apparently, a doctors receptionist also has
severe
asthma
and type 1 diabetes and on group 7. Is there something wrong here?

Might not be asthma
Hi, new here. I’m seeking some ideas here. I’ve been treated for asthma for over 20 years. I’ve had new inhalers recently but resorted to ones I’ve been taking for some time. In December I became unwell. My go gave me prednisone for a week. That did nothing. He diagnosed a virus (not covid). Still struggling

Stopping smoking with asthma...
Hi, I'm giving up smoking today and I've got 3 more days, out of 10, on my steriods after asthma attacks. I guess my biggest worry is I hear you bring up phlegm in the first week or two of giving up and was wondering could this set off another asthma attack... Or have people had situations where it

Clinically vulnerable
Has anyone else noticed that on the gov.uk site for covid vaccines, in the clinically vulnerable group (not extremely)
asthma
has be upped to
severe
asthma
. This means that other asthmatics are no longer sixth in line for a jab.

Running with asthma
I have asthma and mild bronchiectasis. I run around once/twice a week- around 3-5k so not very much. I’ve been on Fostair for a couple of years but don’t seem to be getting any benefit from it and still feel like I need my ventolin before exercise. Has anyone swapped to seretide and seen an improvement
