I have severe asthma and have attacks and am on Seretide. I have been shielding again as received a call to last year. Now just found out I am in group 7 for vaccine. Apparently, a doctors receptionist also has severe asthma and type 1 diabetes and on group 7. Is there something wrong here? I am 48 with a child and single parent. I also have fibromyalgia , arthritis etc.

If you have received shielding information (letter or email) recently (ie since this lockdown started) you will be Group 4. Or should be. If you haven't received a letter then you're not in the CEV group and so would be Group 6 (asthma that's not I'm the CEV group).
My sister and I both received a phone call from NHS last time. They helped sort out food deliveries from the council and shop slots.
If you're not getting the official letters though you're presumably not on the list for the CEV group. It might be worth asking your GP. If you are classed as CEV you should have had letters in March, July/August, November and last week. If not it suggests you're not. I don't know of anyone who only had phone calls. I did have a phone call in March but that was my GP surgery checking I was ok, all the NHS/Gov stuff was by letter and email.
I too was called by the NHS twice early on. Both times it was to see how I was doing, was I getting delivery slots, food boxes of I needed them, did I need help getting medication, mostly that sort of thing. I'm also called by our local community council hub each lock down we have. I received texts in March followed by letters then later on letters and emails. I'm in the CEV group. I'm with Twinkly29 it's worth a call to your GP to see what it happening.
Group 7 is over 55s (55 - 59). If you're clinically extremely vulnerable (severe asthma) you will be in group 4, otherwise as an asthmatic you will default to group 6. The government has given themselves a target to get groups 1 through 4 vaccinated (one dose) by mid February.
