I saw on NHS website they may give injection for people who don't response to inhaled corticosteroids, does anyone take these injections and I feel I may need to take it because it about one year my asthma persist and its not good because I thing this problem may cause air way remodelling,

NHS recommendation as below:

For some people with severe asthma, injections given every few weeks can help control the symptoms.

The main injections for asthma are:

benralizumab (Fasenra)

omalizumab (Xolair)

mepolizumab (Nucala)

reslizumab (Cinqaero)

These medicines are not suitable for everyone with asthma and can only be prescribed by an asthma specialist.

The main side effect is discomfort where the injection is given.

Asthma UK has more information on Xolair and these new treatments for severe asthma.

Auk have created a little a test thing to see if MABs would help you/if you have severe asthma; asthma.org.uk/advice/severe...

For more about mabs/biologics; healthunlocked.com/asthmauk... - MABs aren’t corticosteroid injections. That’s (usually) kenalog (Triamcinolone acetonide) and they work differently

Hope this helps

Yes I getting Mepolizumab once a month. I am on it nearly 2 years. I had no asthma attack since. Only infections but not as bad as before.

These injections aren't corticosteroid meds and treat eosinophilic asthma. Do you know what type of asthma you have? I don't respond to steroid treatments very well but as I have non-eosinophilic asthma these monoclonal antibody meds aren't suitable.

Hi I have monthly omalizumab injections which I was prescribed after being hospitalised with pneumonia. I am a severe asthmatic with allergies and a poor lung function due to Scoliosis.

That's a great message. I need to talk to my doctor about this. I wish you good health.

I have been on Xolair for more than 4 years. For some, it takes a few months to see a difference. For me it was 9 months.

Xolair is for IgE related asthma.

I still have exacerbations with illness but they are not as severe or as long lasting.
