Very Bad Timing
I had hoped to update you all on my first month on Xtandi. But that was complicated almost 3 weeks ago, when I was rushed into hospital for emergency surgery on aparastomal hernia causing a blockage. I was given a new stoma, and have spent the last three week recovering. Except...I don't feel like I

Dad has lung cancer
I think I sort of expected he wouldn’t be ok for treatment as he is only 7.5 stone and has
severe
spine curvature, osteoporosis, arthritis and
asthma
. They have said just palliative care and potentially radiotherapy to manage symptom as they arise.

FYI BBC Invisible disability: Living with inflammatory bowel disease
What's it like living with an invisible disability in London? About 540,000 people have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in the UK and more than 69,000 of them are in the capital. Some sufferers say the lack of toilets is the worst thing about living in the city. Bethany Jacobs has Crohn's disease and

She used my Adderall as an example of an addiction to cigarettes and ignored my anger towards him for smoking around our child.
I told my sister that I wanted my child’s father to stop smoking cigarettes because our son is diagnosed with

and

Bronchospasm v inflammation
The consultant basically said everything was normal (I have
severe
asthma
) and couldn't see any inflammation but did see bronchospasm in the bottom of the right lung and has suggested Spiriva.

Adrenal Insufficiency - it is possible to recover with severe asthma?
So it was confirmed that I have secondary adrenal insufficiency the other week. They did also look at Primary but my blood results have shown that it is down to the steriods taken for my asthma. My cortisol level was again below 28 and unreadable but surprisingly my ACTH came back at 49. Renin was high

Anterior resection
My sister had her cancerous womb removed in 1983. Followed by chemo/radiotherapy. Last year she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer, the consultant pointed out that this could have been caused by the radiotherapy she had in 1983. She had the affected section removed and lived with a stoma bag for 6

Starting biologics
So today I heard from the
severe
asthma
clinic at derriford, i have been approved to start biologics on the 8th feb. What's people's experiences with this? They've told me if it works it could be life changing. It's taken a long time to get the approval and I'm really hoping they work!

Building work wreaking dusty havoc
Hi all, Hope everyone’s safe and well. Where I am currently living is having extensive building work carried out that is leading to lots of dust and mess. Im surprised at how much havoc it’s causing with my sinus and asthma. I anticipated it causing some issues but not this much or as quickly. Unfortunately
