There are notifiable illnesses for car insurance and your insurance company will have these listed on their website, for example epilepsy, diabetes, sleep apnea, glaucoma to name a few. If you already have life insurance then your policy will detail any notifiable changes to your circumstances. Otherwise, if you're taking out life insurance then you may be asked to undergo a medical and be expected to declare all pre-existing conditions to the insurance company.

I don’t have life insurers but potentially might need to inform them.I did speak to car insurance due to having several significant medical conditions. I was worried that without information they could refuse a payout. As it was none of my medical issues needed to be reported but by speaking to them it gave me piece of mind.

Hi, are you aware that there is also a requirement to notify the DVLA of certain medical conditions? There is a substantial penalty for failing to do so: gov.uk/health-conditions-an... My wife has a number of medical issues and we had to notify the dvla of her peripheral neuropathy; thankfully they came back and confirmed that she could continue to drive without any restrictions
