Annual asthma review

It is 6 months late. I have a recurrent cough with phlegm Was expecting a face to face appt but got a phone one with the asthma specialist. I want my chest to be checked but unlikely to happen. What other tests should I have done with asthma? Mine is seasonal one and I want to discuss taking the nexthaler only in winter.

My reviews recently have been just that - a chat on the phone. Pre pandemic my hospital review included yearly spirometry and FeNo test.

To be honest you usually only do your peak flow at face to face asthma appointment so I wouldn’t worry too much about having a phone consultation. Certainly the asthma nurse at my surgery doesn’t listen to chest.Remember if you only want to take inhaler over winter that it can take a number of weeks to become effective so you would need to restart inhaler in Autumn otherwise when you need it, it might not be as efficient.
