Thermometer plastic cover not changed. Annoyed I didn't say anything-hygienic practices concern
These last couple of months have seen me at the hospital and clinic more than before. I have been very pleased with the standards (especially in specific hospitals) however have clocked onto some lack luster hygiene practices and unexpected procedures. The problem is I hate being the one to speak up

New diagnosis of Probable SLE
I just joined this forum after a recent rheumatology appointment at a major university hospital in Washington, DC, where I met with a great rheumatologist after seeing other doctors with no success. He gave my diagnosis on a scale, saying that his speciality describes lupus using a spectrum kind of thing

Update... UTI symptoms but now no growth in urine culture.
At this point I am quite confused and worried about what is going on I have posted on here before about this as I was really unsure of what was happening to me. It started with pain in my right abdomen spread to my back. Went to A&E three times in three days to which they tested my urine each time and

Too Funny Not to Share - things said in court
This was posted on another HU forum. I have just laughed for 5 whole minutes. They are apparently from a book called Disorder in the Courts and are things people actually said in court, word for word. I hope the Administrators don't mind me posting this - so we can laugh amongst all this doom & gloom

It feels like my anxiety is getting worse.
Hi, I'm a new member of this site. (Long post ahead.) At the start of this new year, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I suspected I had depression for a while but never went to see anybody for it. Before this year, I usually ignored my problems and emotions. I spent a lot of time at home

Interpretation of Cortisol 24 hour Urine test & Cortisol Serum test
Hi everyone, I switched to T3 only 4 months ago & am currently on a total of 100mcg T3 (taken in 3 split doses). Many of my symptoms have resolved & my temperature has raised but it is still slightly low & I still have a few lingering symptoms. My T3 levels came back at 4.11pg/mL (1.5 - 4.0) so I think

Circumcision post op experience
12 days ago i had a circmcision. Since a young child i have suffered from not being able to withdraw the foreskin and intercourse resulted in skin splits and pain. After years of splits healing, skin inserting on the glans and skin thickening i built up courage to share my experience with my GP. This

Painkillers - The cure all answer
4 months ago, i reported to my GP with 90% of the symptoms of PA. I had already done some online researching (as you do) and regardless of the diagnosis b12 supplementing seemed a good idea. So, I was taking some orally. I had blood tests done, which came back (conclusively apparently) to state that

A GP advises she or the surgery cannot give me a prescription for hypertonic saline as it is not on the surgery list.
Can anyone shed light on why a GP at my new surgery advises me that she cannot write me a prescription for hypertonic saline at 3% as it is not on her (something or other?) - I can't remember the word she used, she can prescribe normal saline apparently. The hypertonic saline has been advised and prescribed

Cervical excitation?
Hey again, Just wondering if anyone has been told they’ve had severe cervical excitation upon pelvic exam. The internal exam was PAINFUL beyond actual belief, there were tears, screams, the lot. From google I understand that cervical excitation is associated with PID but upon a urine sample being dipsticked

Daily Sputum from coughing
Good afternoon everyone, I suffer with severe Bronchiectasis and I use my nebuliser/postural draining daily to bring up Sputum. I use ventolin and saline Nebs to do this. I usually can cough up a sample container full in the morning and then less as the day goes on. When I have an infection coming in

Bronchiectasis
Hi, This is my first post here. Diagnosed with non CF bronchiectasis last year after a five year period of on/off coughing fits and infections. Physio gave me a flutter device which I use faithfully every day. I also have crohn's disease and take immuno-suppressants which may have been the cause of bronchiectasis

Saline nebuliser
Hiya all, I have a nebuliser and the consultant suggested I use it with saline, which I have, but I am never sure how many times a day to use it. Any suggestions?
