Fondaparinox
After a recent visit to a consultant, the option of a move from LMWH to Fondaparinox was raised as an option to reduce risks of bleeding and osteoporosis as I get older. I would be very keen to hear from anyone who has,or is on it . I wonder whether you feel well on it and also whether the transition

Stopping blood thinner for surgery
Hi All, In late July I had either a TIA or a migraine, the doctors are divided on what it was. In the course of the scans and tests, they found an aneurysm plus an "area of concern" in my brain. I'm scheduled for surgery on Oct. 25. I'm supposed to add another antiplatelet (in addition to the aspirin

warfarin v heparin
Hi, I can only tell you of my experience with warfarin, mine is too help prevent clots from forming when I go into AF atrial fibrillation. I have it monitored on a regular basis which seems to work. All I know about heparin is it’s faster acting and is used a lot on after operative care.

Nattokinase Serrapeptase & Ablation
I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and have been told I need an ablation. Unfortunately, I am a poor metabolizer of most medications, especially those I would need to take in order to have the ablation, i.e. blood thinners, medications for rate control, rhythm control and blood pressure. Genetic tests

Fibrin in peritoneal dialysis drain fluid
Hi all! I’m back again with a concern regarding my dad who started PD in July. Recently he is having some fibrin (white chunky strands) in his drain fluid. I did some research on it and it’s associated with elevated fibrinogen in the plasma which is furthermore associated with bad outcomes in all of

Diabetes and APs / Keto
i was diagnosed as APS back in 2005 and had stable INR controlled with warferin since then. A few months ago my cholesterol and glucose levels were high. just on the cusp of Type 2 diabetes. I lost 10kg weight with mix of diet and a lot more exercise. My cholesterol and glucose levels fine again.

Tainted Blood Sample - Additional Info
Did not anticipate another blood sample error yesterday using hematology clinic lab with the personal touch specifically to avoid errors. Finding the positive, it is good to know that it is not only potassium that can be skewed greatly from a bad/coagulated sample but also protein and liver AST (aspartate

Nasties partying again, how dare they!
As suspected, pseudomonas still enjoying life in my lungs, fortunately I had started
Septrin
Forte when finished Azithromycin. I’m going away with daughter Saturday for five nights in Anglesey, cottage. I’ve been there years ago, riding pillion with bikers club, happy days.
