New and a little scar(r)ed - I have APS and I'm going for an IUI in a little over 3 weeks...
Long story short: I had 14 miscarriages between 2000 and 2006. The 1st 11 were a combo of home tries and IUI's. Then, I did IVF twice, and an FET. Every single one lost to this horrid disorder. My APS was full blown back then. I was on the best treatment plan that existed at one of the best fertility

6th time lucky ?! 🍀
So here we go again . . AF has arrived and I therefore need to call the clinic tomorrow morning and go in for my first scan and start my meds tomorrow night. Very mixed emotions about it all. I'm on a short protocol with Heparin added to helping with my Prothrombin F2 and 5mg of Folic Acid and B6

My AF and my spinal operation.
I've been absent from this site for over a month, mainly due to my neck operation and a continuing total lack of energy. This post will explain my experience, act as a warning and hopefully it won't frighten anyone. I have had AF for over 5 years. I had an ablation in 2014 when it was discovered that

Heprin allergy
Hi I am on warfarin & took heparin when inr below 2.5. I developed a reaction to heparin , hives swollen lips & eyes & itchy mouth & throat. They changed it to fondaparinux injections instead. I am now becoming allergic to these too. Has anybody else experienced this. Getting worried now .

3 down 3 to go! Now with a PICC line
Hello all yippee!!! Got a picc line inserted yesterday, fairly painless, no paracetamol. And no bleeding out despite the heparin! And today's 3rd fec treatment was 100% better than the last! So much easier what a relief. No more anxiety about receiving the next 3 treatments. Also lucky enough to get

Long haul flight
Hi all, I've been medicated with aspirin and hydroxychloroquine for some time now after a retinal vein occlusion and then subsequent odd symptoms which led to them discovering I have Lupus ANTI- DSDNA antibodies. I feel much less exhausted than I did back then when all this began, and I can feel when

Luteal phase support treatments in IVF
Medical student really interested in specialising in fertility treatment when I'm older and currently doing a project on IVF to learn more about it and how the process affects patients. Interested in hearing people's experiences of adjuvant luteal phase treatments (in addition to progesterone). Have

Medical alert bracelet
Hi am confused as to whether I should be wearing a medical alert bracelet. I have lupus and aps, on several medications inc steroids, clopidogrel and azathioprine. Should I be wearing an alert bracelet? I may be changing onto heparin soon instead of the clopidogrel. Thanks, any opinions appreciated

Should I be on anticoagulants?
Continuing my theme of worrying about something new every day, I have a quick question. Should I be on anticoagulants? I'm a 37yr old male with suspected paroxysmal AF, which I could have had for about 6 months prior to diagnosis. I am currently on 120mg Diltiazem while I wait to see a cardiologist for

Clear cell
I had my first appointment with the oncologist today and was told that I had clear cell stage 3. Also that I would have to have heparin injections for another 5 months while having chemo. I cried and cried. Any info on clear cell would be gratefully received.

Question about Nausea, and non-wafarin treatment options for APS
Kersten, Mary F, and aPNotSoFab and Luis- I had problems two weeks ago w/ bladder. ( painful cramping with urination- bladder itself- not urethra- not UTI) Went to Obgyn. Initial urine sample was ok- detailed culture send out also ok. I suspect micro clots somewhere as I am still sub therapeutic. This
