Recently diagnosed with PBC and AHI
First, I want to apologize for this being so long. I am new to the site. I am 52 and live in Denver, CO. For the last 8 weeks, I have been having dizzy spells. 2 weeks ago, on Thursday January 26th I blacked out and fell. Which caused me to have pain on my right side. I went to my Doctors for a chest

A couple of answers
Got a couple of answers from my consultant today! He said if I have to miss one dose of rivaroxaban due to a tummy upset it doesn't matter; more than one probably does and if I have an extended period when I can't eat, to get in touch as I'd have to have heparin injections. Just what one wants with an

Update and Raw Spinach Question ;D)
Hello everyone! I am so happy to say that I finally found a hematologist near me that works with APS! He looked at my past 3 labs that were taken 3 months apart and said there's no question that I have APS. He is very knowledgeable, ready to work WITH me and I've started back on my Warfarin last Thursday

Heparin to Warfarin Bridging
Hi, I recently came out of surgery and was given heparin injections (came off warfarin in advance of the surgery). I am now being bridged back to warfarin. I'm injecting 15,000 single doses of heparin while "reloading" my warfarin. The warfarin dosage is 12 mg. I have to do this for 3 days, and then

CFX ( chromogenic Factor X) Assay
*I’m including my results on a few draws compared in IV vein value draws, as well as coagucheck Finger prick values. This , my hematologist, confirms I’m likely now Lupus Anticoagulant Antibody Positive as well. ( likely I’ve “picked up “ the third anti body.) I was origionaly only positive for aCL

Post pe
I was diagnosed with a small pe in April 2017 after a c-section delivery. Since then I had heparin for 6 months and Apixaban now because I don't want to come off blood thinners. My haematology consultant says after months of blood testing that I have no clotting conditions and that this was due to pregnancy

Pregnant with PV, JAK2+, weird family history
Hello, everyone! I've been perusing the boards and see that you guys are pretty helpful; nice to see. I did a quick search for this through the MPN Voice forums and only found a similar expectant mom thread for someone who had ET, not PV. Also, I was curious if anyone else has a weird platelet family

Nattokinase or serrapeptase instead of usual blood thinners
Hi guys, has anyone used Nattokinase or Serrapeptase as a blood thinner with paroxysmal af? I was wondering if I can take them during an episode as a blood thinner instead of injected heparin as doc suggested. I am 0 in CHAD'S score and my afib is one episode after 3 months usually after emotional stress

Factor X Chromogenic Assay (FXC): I have this. It renders my “true vein value INR “ one full number lower than it actually is.
This apparently is why I’ve been reclotting. I don’t understand it that well yet. Please look up allinahealth.org It’s a lab out of the USA that manufactures this assay. ( blue top draw .) A perfect example I’ll give you is from Monday the 27th of November. ( I took my coagucheck meter with me so

IVC Filter/Clot Catcher Removal after 12 years, surgeon said its the worst case he'd ever seen! Sticky blood & filters are a bad combo.
So I managed to copy this onto a new post. I've still not seen the thrombosis /haematology doctors but apparently they are coming to see me today, where have I heard that before?! 🤔 I have attached a photo of the filter with my thumb beside it to give you an idea of the size of it, the metal side struts

Where (not) to place a port
Hello Ladies, I wanted to share a cautionary tale regarding port placement in hopes that it will help someone else in the future. Prior to my cancer diagnosis, I had experienced severe blood clots (causing bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms which nearly killed me). The cause of the clots was not immediately

Part II to Previos Post On Wide spread clotting/ Immuno Suppression Being Advised And Warfarin Abandoned. (?!?!)
I have mentioned many times the multiple large DVT’s I have experienced in my Right Brachial. They occupy the entire length of the Brachial - which on a tiny lady is maybe 4-5 inches in length. Totally non compressible. It will clear up/ resolve but it takes 4 weeks. The Brachial is now narrowed and

Aspirin while waiting for heparin?
We've had 3 missed miscarriages. We had blood work done and found out that my wife is lacking an enzyme which breaks down blood clots and, therefore, will need to give herself injections of, I think, heparin. Good news: we found out she's pregnant this morning. However, we don't want to wait days for
