We've had 3 missed miscarriages. We had blood work done and found out that my wife is lacking an enzyme which breaks down blood clots and, therefore, will need to give herself injections of, I think, heparin.
Good news: we found out she's pregnant this morning. However, we don't want to wait days for the hospital to open to get our prescription and start injecting.
Any advise? Should we get in aspirin until then? Anyone know if there's any way we can get heparin before then?
Sounds really simple, but they advise people on warfarin not to eat grapefruit as it thins the blood further and could cause them to bleed out if they have a bleed. It's also touted as being a great conception food as it aids implantation through increased blood flow. Grapefruit might be a really easy thing to try and to also feel like you're doing something.
On the aspirin, I had the opposite advice to Lizzie and am continuing with my aspirin, but sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry. I've not had a bfp so don't have something as precious as you to take care of.
I hope all goes well this weekend and your wife gets what she needs soon
