First BH blood tests
Hello again, well I've discovered that after over 20 years as Hyopthyroid I'm a Hashi body. I took the results to GP who then ran her own. I've had thyroxine upped to 125 from 100. I've had the loading doses of B12 and am now taking the following supplements. Thorne basic b. Vitamin d3 5000 with k2

Selenium Supplementation Significantly Reduces Thyroid Autoantibody Levels in Patients with Chronic Autoimmune Thyroiditis
We have seen all too many unquantified, often unsupported, claims about selenium and thyroid antibodies. Good to see at least a little step in the direction of properly assessing the importance of selenium. Note, though, the last sentence: [i]Whether these effects correlate with clinically relevant

Diagnosed 6 months and still on starter dose
Hi Sorry to post again but i've just had the endo's recommendation to stay on the starter dose of 25mg Levo. I was diagnosed Hashimotos in the summer with sky high antibodies but didn't get medicated until October. Back then my TSH was 4.3 and FT4 was 13.57. My B12 was 301 and vit d was 88. 6 months

Does T4 level matter when on NDT?
I recently had a blood test done at my health centre to placate my GP, he is concerned about my suppressed TSH. I just ignore him when he says anything, I have tried explaining that TSH levels are irrelevant when medicating but it does not sink in, though he does accept that I am aware of the risks and

T3 or Not T3, that is my question?
Hello all, I'm back with another update and would like your feedback on my latest labs and symptoms. As most of you know, I had a partial thyroid removal 5 months ago and have been slowly recovering. A lot of my original symptoms have diminished, but I am still experiencing the internal tremors, ringing

Recently diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis :(
Hi everyone, I am new here. I have autoimmune disease and I recently have been diagnosed with AIH. I was on prednisone and due to the awful side effects, my doctor switched me to Budesonide--yet I'm still experiencing horrible side effects along with Imuran. These drugs are literally sucking the life

unable to stop crying, unhelpful ENT consultants, need some hope /advice
I have various problems with asthma, no smell, sore bones and food intolerances all of which I have been coping with for several years now and last year was given levothyroxine as my TSH had gradually gone up to 9.55 over the year. The net had indicated that treatment for thyroid would help and I persuaded

Recently commenced Levothyroxine treatment but need advice re: weight management and bloods!
Hello everyone! I wrote on the forum a few months back prior to attending a private GP reccomended from Thyroid UK in May. Bloods advice please, I am slowly getting better, and have a plan!
I am a Hashis sufferer, and am slowly raising my Levo dose. I have been on 75 mg Levo for 6 weeks now and as you will see from photo, my latest GP mini test shows TSH and T4 at good levels. I am also feeling a whole lot better. My previous bloods from Blue Horizon on 2/11/2016 showed low vit D and v

Just left my appointment with the Endo...
The long anticipated appointment with the Endo (Lewisham Hospital) just ended.. it was an anticipated dis-appointment. All my blood tests are normal (within range) so no other help is given. The only important thing is TSH and that is low. I said that TSH doesn't say much at all, and that it's the free

Started T4 - 3 weeks ago - feel much worse!
Hi all I started on Levothyroxine sodium exactly 3 weeks ago. Dose of 50ug one day and 25ug next day and I feel and look much worse! I know advice here states it can take up to 6 weeks to feel any effect. By the way I'm self medicating as though was a long wait to see Endocrinologist and GP wouldn't

Results on NDT
Hi everyone. I have been on NDT now for a littleover a year. I have been OK at 2.5 grains, but recently started feeling very tired. It could be stress (a lot on my shoulders) but I thought I'd better rule out undermedication. I have no hyper symptoms at all. I also supplement vit d, omega 3, b12, iron

Selenium advice
Hi all you wise people. I'm gutted to find that the Solgar selenium supplements I've been taking contain gluten. Can anyone please recommend a gluten free brand?
