Last month I went from prediabetic to hitting 300 due to the Dexamethasone I've been having to take for my chemo treatments. My oncologist put me on metformin & it brought my level down, but now I've been in & out of the ER. Once with intestinal issues, once with chronic diarrhea & shortness of breath

Letrozole - slow follicle growth - any experiences ?
Hello, I’m worried about my current cycle where I’m was treated with letrozole 5mg days 2-6. I have PCO (and usually ovulate on my own around day 14). I’m on letrozole to boost ovulation and to help my short natural Luteal phase (also take progesterone in the Luteal phase). For the past 6 cycles

Orgovyx Insurance Approval
Anyone who is not on Medicare but relying on private insurance in getting approval for Orgovyx? I really want to avoid Lupron or Eligard since I take two blood pressure meds, one statin and Metformin for type 2 diabetes already. Plus, I have heard nothing but bad things about both. Yes, I realize

... what, then, do we die of?
New study of SEER data below [1]. The old comforting words that men with PCa "die with the disease, not of it" does not apply once mets occur, of course, but is largely true for local disease (the majority of cases in the U.S., due to screening practices.) It has long been known that men with PCa

Dr. Mark Porter's B12 Times article
Further to deniseinmilden's post I decided to risk my credit card and subscribed to the free trial of The Times to get the article. Here it is, for better or for worse! There are a lot of comments, some of which he replies to, sadly I can't reproduce them here. But I think it's good news in terms of the

A1C in CKD
hello. has anyone heard that the A1C "goal" for a diabetic is not the same if the diabetic has CKD? since I started diabetic treatment 2.5 years ago, it seems like my Dr's have focused on my A1C only. my A1C goes down to 6.4 great. but the Metformin can be hard to take at times with side effects,

ADT and Headaches
To all, I may have mentioned it before, but I've had low-level but disruptive headaches since I started ADT along with low RBC/Hemoglobin/Hematocrit. Also as a diabetic, I've been on metformin for many years, thus depleting my B12 levels. I've talked to my doctors about this, and the only solution

Jardiance side effects? Off Metformin for diabetes 2, but high blood sugar 88, overweight, aged 67, scared reactions due other conditions?
Am terminally ill, irreparable brain damage, epilepsy, so can't do much exercise! Was on metformin from start of diabetes 2 in 2020, found my blood sugar level was 88, have been dieting lost 2 half stone, cholesterol not too bad, so they have put me on just Jardiance 10mg a day! Am taking medication

Trialling magnesium

WOW, noticing today, after some weak days at 5mg prednisone, I am again feeling good and energetic, added meth and hydroxy dropped metformin
I was at 5 a few weeks go, but too hastily dropped and went to 2.5, and on the 3rd day at 2.5 felt terrible. Jumped back to 10 and then 7.5. And since I have gone back to 5, after maybe a week at 5, I am again feeling great, better than I did the last time I was at 5. There are some differences now,

Colchicine and Inflammation Revisited
Inflammation is one of the two principle drivers of “The Hallmarks of Cancer” which are the common drivers of progression of cancer from initiation to invasion and spread, to developing resistance to treatments and ultimately to end stage metastasis. (The other main driver being genomic instability:

Think I have broken my brain ?
Weird brain day, started looking into if any Liverpool GP's prescribe T3. Thanks to a link on another post. Then thought hang on lets check B12 levels and if they affect HbA1c, if Metformin affects B12, before I knew what was happening I have spent hours checking everything. Head is spinning,

Subclinical hypothyroid and PCOS
Asking on behalf of my 20yo daughter. She recently had a battery of blood tests via an endocrinologist, triggered as a result of massive fatigue, hair thinning, dry skin and very rapid weight gain (20kg in a year even when eating fairly healthily). She was diagnosed with PCOS and her TSH is highish

A few questions for the diabetics here that are on insulin.
I'm a t2 diabetic and have been for over 20 years. Mostly I've kept it under control with A1C around 6, give or take a few. This was with metformin. My CKD has progressed to where I had to stop the metformin. My doctor tried a few other meds but they didn't work. A couple of weeks ago I started
