MEMORY LOSS, WAS IT CAUSED BY THE ESTROGEN PATCHES
Following a positive biopsy indicating that I had prostate cancer (3+4) in late 2013, I began a long ADT treatment protocol that included a combination of Lupron, Casodex, Avodart, Xgeva and Metformin until Februaru 2015. I then switched from Lupron to Estrogen Patches and continued the Avodart and Metformin

As a result of some of the helpful comments from fellow warriors I began tracking the blood levels below in addition to my compulsive monthly focus on PSA. The oncologist has had me getting a comprehensive metabolic test every 2 weeks for the first 3 months on Zytiga to see how it affects the kidneys

Would like input from people who have tried Saxenda (especially people with hypothyroidism)
I'm new to this group but already a member of the thyroid and diabetes forums. I'm desperate to lose weight. I've been overweight most of my adult life. I started dieting at 13 and 20 years of yo-yo dieting followed. In my early 30s, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (low thyroid, caused by autoimmune

Metformin - not looking so good....
When someone posts about metformin and PCa, the general consensus seems to be that a lot of guys are on it and have seen significant improvements in their weight and bloodwork - but there is usually a fair bit of to- and fro- as regards evidence that it actually helps. This recent paper claims metformin

PPI and Diabetes Drugs
Hi, I put most of this info in recent replies on forum but thought might be of interest to others. Curious to know if any long term users of these drugs had regular testing of B12 levels in the past. NHS link omeprazole https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/omeprazole/ See section 9 Common Questions about Omeprazole

Berberine Supplement
I saw an article in this forum but didn't get much clarity. Read few pages on Internet but that didn't help either. My allopathic doctor obviously recommends only his medicines. So the moot question remains - can I try berberine safely (to start with in addition to Metformin BD) to see it's effect?

Looks like a bit of ADT induced anemia
CBC test shows below normal RBCs, HGBs, and hemtocrit. Maybe, that's why i feel sluggish during my walk/runs :-) On a sorta good note PSA at 4.4 and T at 14 - so no doubling! It was 4.0 last month. Still on Metformin (2000mg/day) and Lipitor(10mg) and Casodex I'm going to try and supplement with this

Was taking 75mcg of thyroxin and experienced after 9 months excessive sweating my endo said my thyroid lvls were good
But my body was telling me different I was losing my hair, my scalp was red it was itchy along with the sweat, my wrist itch, my finger tips, and the bottom of my feet itch too. Constipation, and nails were brittle and not growing. I told him that his blood test would not supersede my symptoms. He said

GFR of 48
Hi friends, just had labs, and got a call from my doctor to make an appointment to talk with her about my kidney function. My current GFR is 48, and was 66 two years ago. I’m trying not to panic, but I’m worried. I have no swelling, no blood in my urine, and feel okay. Any suggestions on how to increase

Insulin Enhances Migration and Invasion in PCa.
New Australian (+Canadian) cell study below [1]. As we know, most PCa cells use fatty acids for energy - not glucose. This is why fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET scans are not generally used. However, we also know that diabetics have less PCa risk than non-diabetics. This suggests that a die-off of

The Newcastle Diet : does it work?
If you're short on time, the brief answer is "for most people, no, not really". The longer answer is very interesting. Here's the summary of the 2-year followup, straight from the source: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/media/wwwnclacuk/newcastlemagneticresonancecentre/files/DiRECT%20-%202%20year%20results.pdf
