on metformin pre diabetes of 42 taking 500 mg metformin twice a day, do I still need to take it.

Has your doctor prescribed Metformin? Are you saying that your HbA1c is 42 therefore pre diabetic? It is unusual to take Metformin at that level, but I think I would ask your doctor.

Thanks for your reply, started on four tablets a day, reduced to 2 tablets a day at my last blood test for it at doctors. Had a medichecks test done down to 42 on 2 tablets a day. Think I need to talk to the diabetic nurse at the surgery. But thanks your advice much appreciated.

That sounds like a good idea. I hope she says you can stop the Metformin.

have a telephone appointment with her 1 September she is very good, so hoping I can come off it. But thanks for what you have said.

Have Diabetes 2, height 5ft 9 inches, age 66, what weight would be ok to go for to go for a bid to get off prescribed metformin pills?

Was originally 17 1/2 stone in March 2020 when diagnosed, now 15st 10, sugar and cholesterol level...
