Periodic rhinitis
Every two to three weeks I have a day when my nose constantly streams with watery mucus as a result of sneezing. I have no warning and have been prescribed Avamys which I don't like so use rarely. The ENT consultant says Sterimar is good but cannot give me any reason for the problem. Any suggestions

Easyhaler Salbutamol Sulfate inhaler
Have just had dispensed a different salamol inhaler, which is a dry inhaler and has a dose counter on the side. The latter should be easier to monitor instead of having to weigh salamol inhaler. Hope it is as effective as well. Wishing you all a pleasant weekend. š¤

Hay fever medicines
I continue to have badly blocked ears and a runny nose for several weeks. Iāve only managed to see paramedics rather than a GP about it. I havenāt used any nasal sprays (other than saline) but would like to try anti-allergy medication such as antihistamine. Yet Iāve read that āA few common stimulating

Iodine and Povidone - A Chemistry Lesson
Over the years, we have seen many mentions of povidone-iodine. This video is the first time I have ever come across a proper explanation as to why povidone-iodine is chosen! It then continues with its aim of extracting pure iodine from povidone-iodine. The video could be very boring if you are

Change in inhalers
I'm currently on sertide and being switched over to symbicort. I'm not sure of the dosage etc as need to discuss further with gp. I'm a little concerned as been on seretide for years. When I get switched it triggers flares and I've already had loads of time of work. I work part time. I also think I'm

PAF from allergy/hay fever remedies?
Iāve had increasingly frequent episodes of PAF recently. Last year I went for over a year without any PAF before having an episode in December. I had another episode 3 months later in March of this year and now a third episode only 11 days later. Iām concerned that the condition is becoming more frequent

Wool Blend Jumpers
I had a nasty day long asthma flare today, which is unusual at this time. In winter I normally have daily short, sharp attacks, very unpleasant but responsive to salamol. This attack unusually took an hour coming on, so we did all the normal things, air purifiers on, clear the bins etc. Then it was

Blood pressure medications and non-allergic rhinitis
Turns out, vasodilators dilate the tiny capillaries in your nose and can cause non-allergic
rhinitis
. Doesnāt sound like too much to put up with, but my nose has gotten so out of sorts that there are sore patches inside and I think it could easily get infected because the skin is so delicate now.

Asthma flare up!?
After recovering from chest infection , asthma flare up and asthma attacks. I still have a productive cough and have to sleep sitting up. My peak flow hasn't recovered yet and is 400/500. My asthma woke me up last night and my peak flow was 380/500. After 4 puffs of my salamol I was able to go back to

Parkrun might have to wait
I was intending to do my first ever parkrun tomorrow but having survived Ciaran yesterday, the sun was shining and it was fairly calm. Forecast tomorrow not so good- ah the dilemma, go out this morning or do some S&F and do parkrun tomorrow? Readers, the lure of a lovely sunny morning run was too great
