Easyhaler Salbutamol Sulfate inhaler

Have just had dispensed a different salamol inhaler, which is a dry inhaler and has a dose counter on the side. The latter should be easier to monitor instead of having to weigh salamol inhaler. Hope it is as effective as well.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend. 🤗

Thanks for your good wishes, Alberta. I suppose the dose counter could be useful if inhaler works. 🤗

Hi, thanks for clarifying that newer lower CFC driven inhalers have counters. I find it very frustrating to have to continually guess how much is left in mine.

I think I need to request one with a counter in future.

Hope you find the one you have now helpful.

Go well

Thanks for your reply, Pauline. Yes, the dose counter would help if the dry power inhaler works. People have often asked on the forum how to tell if salbutamol inhaler is empty. 🤗

Hi,I have been using the dry powder version for a few months now,it took a bit of getting used to having to do all the work,ie sucking the powder, but it seems to work just as well plus i always know how many doses i have left..cheers

My consultant said they will be changing all inhalers to powder eventually because of the cfc. It took a while to get used to as I don't like the powder but seems to be working x

Hello Izb, Your reply is much appreciated and it looks like they will be prescribing more of the same to many . 🤗

just read that inhaler emissions account for approx 3% of NHS carbon footprint

Article said ALUK study indicated that most patients would like the environmental impact of inhalers to be a consideration in treatment choice .

NICE on patient choice of inhaler ‘ it is important to make a choice that is right for you ‘

I have tried Bricanyl in a dry powder dispenser , years ago now , struggled a bit .

Couldnt use a spacer , took my an effort to suck the medication in

Don’t know if I could cope with dry powder Ventolin ,

Hi Lupino, hope it works well for you. Hubby tried a powder inhaler done years ago and sadly a disaster, it just caused him to cough and choke. Perhaps things have improved since then, hope they don't try and force these onto patients. What's best for the patient and their health and wellbeing should be the driving force, nothing else. xx

Pete can’t use powder inhalers because of choking and l won’t allow him to be bullied into using one either. Hope you’re well. Xxx❤️

Patients on here struggle enough with their health problems without the meds causing further issues. I think carers also have to be protectors of their loved ones. Cliff pretty rough still after COVID, having x-ray next week to check lungs after pneumonia through COVID, and Rituximab infusion in couple of weeks for his RA and vasculitis. I'm ok, still have tiredness and brain fog after COVID, that could be age related though 😂. I'm just so pleased that this site is here for all the support, and friendship it gives. Thanks Sassy, best wishes to you and Pete xx

Hoping Cliff feels much better soon. Covid is still awful and nobody should forget that. Sending love and good wishes to you both and I agree, this forum is such a blessing to all. Xxx🙏🏻❤️

Hello Sunshineday, I agree with you in that patients who have poor reaction to new variant of medicines be allowed to remain on original. 🤗

Always used salamol easi breather so I can't help your salbutamol sulphate. But I have to go hull royal to the specialist unit there on 8th . So my meds might get changed yet.

I just hope I can get some answer as I couldn't from my local hospital. I hope it does something for. I have to tryterbutaline sulphate nebuliser solution which was prescribed using the sabutampl nebs shortage.
