Dark circles after transplant
Hi everyone A while after my transplant the area around the eyes got considerably dark, similar to before the surgery. This was more pronounced when I was taking oxycodone. Now that I no longer take oxycodone, I still have dark circles but they're not as noticeable as before. The medications I'm on currently

Dad has stage 5 CKD
My Dad has chronic nephritis and now he is down to only 14% function which puts him at stage 5 :( The Dr is not suggesting dialysis, my dad is 86 and has not really asked why it's not being offered. I am looking at diet etc and any supplements that might help him but everything I read online seems to

Hi all hope you are all doing well My gfr is 7% and not on dialysis but have my fistula ready for action. For the last 15months I've been on fluid restriction of 1000mls and 160mg of diuretic. All was going well until the last 10 weeks and all I seem to do is gain fluid. Saw my consultant Wednesday and

Wondering about Social Life in HD Centers
Hi All! I am 64-year-old man with a long history of dealing with CKD and dialysis. I started doing peritoneal dialysis in 2005 and continued until I got a transplant in 2009. I think I was probably lucky that I didn't have to wait longer. My kidney has been holding up, but my eGFR has been hanging around

Stage 3 kidney disease
Anyone have SLE and kidney disease? I knew my kidneys weren't great, but I was hoping dialysis and kidney transplant were not going to be something I had to address anytime in my lifetime. I am trying to stay calm, but need the support of this community right now, because my husband is not

Peritoneal dialysis
I am new to this site, hello! I am 65 years young, have been on peritoneal dialysis for a year and a half. I chose peritoneal over hemodialysis as I feel more normal and not wiped out after treatment. Getting a good night's sleep has been a challenge, seem to wake up every 2-3 hours. Just had to

Hello all, went into hospital for a fistulagram this morning, all went ok, just about to have a cup of tea and told I did not have time as I was wanted in renal to start my dialysis- this was such a surprise as I was expecting 2nd week in September, best way to happen as no time to think about it. Everything

Update - in case anyone else is in a similar position!
I posted recently that the derm thought I had lichen aureus - well the biopsy results came back and it's granuloma annulare apparently. I've been put on tacrolimus. Wondering if anyone else with hypo has had or tried this? I'll update in a month or so even if no one has, just in case it helps anyone
