Update - in case anyone else is in a similar position!
I posted recently that the derm thought I had lichen aureus - well the biopsy results came back and it's granuloma annulare apparently. I've been put on tacrolimus. Wondering if anyone else with hypo has had or tried this? I'll update in a month or so even if no one has, just in case it helps anyone

Calcichew 500mg tablets are different sizes in container...
I have hypoparathyroidism. I've been taking Calcichew 500mg tablets for years. Recently, I discovered my new (latest) container of Calcichew tablets were different sizes. Larger ones (those I'm used to) mixed with smaller tablets. Should I be worried? Family members (on my behalf) went to talk to

Long Term Treatment
Believe it, or not, and it does amaze me.....It's been Twenty Years, since I Collapsed with Vasculitis. I was given or, more correctly, my Mother was told that I had 'Less Than An Hour' to live. I AM aware that it is only due to the skills/care of Surgeons/Doctors, along with my Mother's ceaseless love

2nd kidney
Hello all, I'm new to this app and wanted to see what it's all about.. I'm about to receive my second kidney transplant, in which the first one lasted me 15 years. Don't really have a lot of energy but trying to think of things I could do while at home since I'm not working and on disability. Any ideas

Hello Kidney Warriors!
My name is Dave White. I'm a veteran of six years of dialysis. I received a kidney transplant from a deceased donor about two years ago, and I honor my donor and his family every day as a patient advocate and health care consultant. I joined this group because dialysis kept me alive for six years, plain

Can Anxiety Cause a Hallucination?
A year and a half ago I bought some Retin A on line for a wrinkle on my forhead, used it maybe 6 times in 2 weeks and my skin was like a wet sponge. If I touched it, it indented and stayed and the skin peeled off my nose completely. I don't know if it was that or an ingrown hair on my arm, but I developed

Salt-losing nephropathy in hypothyroidism
Just how many hypo- issues did this patient have? The paper does support the idea that sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphate and chloride can all be affected by hypothyroidism. Also wonder, as kidneys perform at least some conversion of T4 to T3, do kidney issues contribute to overall inadequate

My BG Test after 3 months
Today I went for my regular sugar checkup. I was very much surprised as everything was under control. As I was not hoping the results to be that much good. HBA1C is 5.6(last time it was 6.1). Creatinine is normal and Urine test is also normal. I was so happy that I had a cup of

today.

My Skin
I first suffered with cystic acne in my 20's and, after trying topical creams with Retinol A, oral contraceptives and antibiotics, I decided to self-refer myself to a Dermatologist and was prescribed Roaccutane. My mum, who was a nurse, was concerned about the side effects but I was feeling so depressed

Water Cure
I am starting the water cure that was developed by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj, who said: "You're not sick; you're thirsty. Don't treat thirst with medication." Water cure involves drinking half your weight in ounces (so f.e., if you weight 120, you would drink around 60 oz./day), and taking unprocessed sea

Clinical trials: post transpant management of anti-rejection medications
I have been invited to take part in a clinical trial to reduce (completely?) anti-rejection meds. I am currently on .5 mg Prograf x 2 and 500mg MMF x 1 which I realise is quite low. Is there anyone out there who has dropped these entirely? If so, could you share experiences, either here or via message
