A diabetes study recommending treatment based on clinical features published in The Lancet
Hattersley explained that this, in part, reflected a
failure
to remove patients with pre-existing
renal
failure
. "We asked whether initial
renal
function better explained
renal
failure
than subgroups. We found it did. In fact, baseline eGFR markedly outperformed the clusters," he added.

Wondering about protein in urine
Hi, I have been loosing anywhere from 300mg to 800mg of protein in my urine per 24 hours for about 4 years now. My creatinine and GFR and all other markers are always perfect (thank God). I'm wondering how my kidneys are showing damage (by the proteinuria) but my blood tests are always perfect. I do

Has anyone stayed at a steady elevated creatinine level for a long time?
I am at 1.4 and have a creatinine clearance of 136.6 I am 22 and my doctor says my level is normal. But my creatinine has been 1.54 and 1.7 in the past. So I am confused. Any feedback is appreciated.

Any experience using herbs for A Fib?
Interest in herbs causing prolongation of Q T interval. Example of prolongation is found with grapefruit juice or passionflower. Foxglove (digitalis) has been used for years for cardiac failure. I have particular interest in anyone with experience of Yerba Santa or its flavanoid (sterubin) & any cardiac

PBC and living kidney donor possibility
I offered to be a living kidney donor for my sister who is in end-stage
renal
failure
. Determined to be perfect match, underwent ALL tests and cleared until pre-op results showed high ALP. No symptoms except the high blood levels and sent for a liver biopsy.

Very confused about ablation
I am now talking to different doctors about getting an ablation they all agree that I need an ablation but all of them say the same thing I am doing it for quality of life and my heart is strong I've had A-fib since 2014 and it has gotten progressively worse I get it every few days I take tenormin flecainide

An Interesting Thought Has Crossed My Mind Re The Current Vitamin A/Alveoli Research.
PS: Let me explain my cynicism: I had in my life, TOTAL
RENAL
FAILURE
and the start of cancer in my esophagus. I TOTALLY restored my kidneys and my esophagus is cancer free. I turned my back on traditional meds and went with alternative modalities.

The Management of Thyroid Abnormalities in Chronic Heart Failure
Yet another paper which emphasises the importance of thyroid hormone for the heart. But still emphasises levothyroxine alone (in the abstract, at least). [i]Heart Fail Clin. 2019 Jul;15(3):393-398. doi: 10.1016/j.hfc.2019.02.008. Epub 2019 Apr 5.
