You are perfectly right - eGFR fluctuates. I was worried when my eGFR dropped to 54 which indicated mild to moderate kidney disease - this test was with Thyrocare (13 March 2019). I realised then after some internet research that I had been quite dehydrated that day as I had travelled around a bit on my two-wheeler on a very hot day. On March 22 I got the test done again at the Indian Institute of Diabetes and my eGFR was 70.98. I am sorry I missed including this figure in my original post. I was greatly relieved but to reconfirm I did another test at Hindlabs which showed 90.98 which is unbelievable. So I think my true eGFR is around 70.
No, my doctor does not know about the tests. I panicked when the value dropped to 54 and I did all the other tests on my own. I am 68 and live alone with chronic T2D and high BP and was worried. I am glad it was a false alarm.
