One year on
One year since my unexpected HA. One stent fitted and a triple bypass October 2019. Had blood test mid July and all good. But GP put me back on Ramipril and changed statin. After two weeks my energy levels were not good and was feeling run down most of the time. After discussing this with GP I am on

Hi I'm new here - HA in December 2015, one stent fitted and feeling grand since. Have moderate CAD. Am on 75mg of Aspirin and have to have a tooth extraction next Thursday. Have asked surgery if I need to stop Aspirin for a few days but they haven't come back to me yet. Just wondering if anyone on forum

Omron BP continually monitor reporting Atrial Fibrillation but ECG 'normal' anyone else experience this?
I recently invested in a top spec Omron Blood Pressure Monitor (I wanted the App function to track my BP as have been experiencing low BP and was reducing BP meds after 15 years, now been able to stop BP meds, hopefully this as a result of diet, weight and exercise changes not other potential conditions

Home! Update
Well I’m home! Ended up in a&e on Sunday with very unstable angina, attacks on and off for hours. Then had a bad reaction to the new drug they gave me there (slow release nitro) bp kept crashing.. Cardiologist wanted to keep me in till the stent and said I was too high risk to go home. Had angioplasty

The Magic Pill
A bit of background. Heart attack in April, stent fitted. TC 7.2, HDL 1.0, TG 1.3. I've refused statins and in 3 months I've dropped 2 stone, but I'm still a little overweight. TC 6.1, LDL 4.5, HDL 1.1, TG 1.1. I moved to a mediteranean diet which basically involved cutting out the bad stuff, because

H/A Then Angina
Hi guys, newbie here I'm just coming up to the first anniversary of my ha and stent (I'm 55). A few months ago I started to experience chest pain upon exertion, so my doctor has put it down to angina and given me a gtn spray (which I have to use occasionally), and also isosorbide mononitrate to go with

Hi! I first wanted to thank everyone on this forum, for educating me on APS. I had two positive blood tests - B2Gp1 IgM - seven years ago and I was not medicated. My other APS antibodies were WNL. This June - I had an unexpected stroke - which is odd at age 51 with no heart issues. I was given an APS

Question for anybody who has had an ICD/pacemaker fitted.
I have heart failure diagnosed 20 months ago and a VT 9 months ago which took me to hospital for 10 days. The long stay was due to they wanted to first investigate the stent fitted 8 weeks before so had to wait for a free spot, which took 5 days. The stent was fine so they decided I need an ICD/pace

Suggestions for heart medicine likely causing excessive wind/gas?
Hi everyone. I catch up on the 'Hearties' posts daily and was hoping someone may have had similar issues with heart medicines that cause excessive gas/wind to help me narrow down the likely culprit? I had a HA due to an Lcx blockage with a stent placed in mid-May. Since then I have been having excessive

1st Heart Attack
Hi! Newbie here! My name's Jim. I'm 42. Just had my 1st heart attack. Colluded LAD looks like the cause. 1 Stent fitted. Father of 3, engaged to be married! I just thought this was somewhere I could tell the world and maybe find some help moving forward with my recovery. Also diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes

I Can Do an Oil Change
My latest blog post, where I ponder the paradox of having a "can do" attitude while on disability leave. In other news, I completed chemo back in June, finished radiation in July, and continue on Atezolizumab, Lupron, Abiraterone, and Xgeva. I'm finally beginning to see glimpses of improving health

Operation planned
I don’t comment a lot but I read many of your messages and questions and feel for you all. It’s a horrible journey to be on and I’ve previously been told I had IBS, low pain threshold (definitely not) and imaginary pain. It actually took a nurse to say to me when I came back for another suspected urine
